I'm thinking catching has something to do with the equation, as well. My TE has problems with getting the ball knocked loose and I know he has to work up his carrying and confidence both... however, I've also seen my HB get Jackhammered several times, as well. And he's got 61 Strength, 57 Carrying, 50 Confidence... however, he's only got 33 catching. Just a thought, I suppose.

I would say no, since the play by play goes

"caught by.....knocked loose by"

I don't know this for sure but I think the "knocked loose" roll is more like a fumble roll than a catch roll, so it is more about carrying.

Catching is a factor.

Catching will make a difference between a perfect catch and a catch where you bobble the ball.

When the receiver is trying to take possession of the ball, he is more vulnerable to jackhammer.

I don't believe so since it says the ball was already caught.
