I have much higher stamina, catching, carrying stats, also more in SAs.

They have the same super vision... actually the difference in agility is quite big on second viewing.

i've noticed BH in action on a few plays now (I had 7pts in it)

as i suspected, it was more valuable for catching up to a receiver that gained some ground on me (i was outleveled by 10-15 in both scrimmages).

otherwise my character was doing a good job at keeping pace with the receiver anyways so the added boost after the throw was pointless. Not that I have performed significant testing, but i don't believe BH is a "must have" for corners, at least not yet. In man coverage, if your CB is properly built, he should be in position anyhow... the boost isnt required. If your CB is ever in a zone, the BH boost really helps make up the space to prevent too many yards after the catch however. Therefore I think BH is more valuable to zone position like a FS.

I'm not saying that BH is bad or useless by any stretch, and I'm not sure how good any of the legitimate alternatives are (LR, 3DS) but I'm not sold on BH being absolutely necessary at this time. Since I'm outleveled by so much this season, I will likely take BH anyways.

i have noticed that the coverage settings are affecting my player differently now as well.

I believe in Ball Hawk, going with 15 until my CB is retired.

Unreal. Ba'al the guy who's v.a's aren't spent yet. Got his 4th int on the preseason. While the other two with 7 in ball hawk each have 0.

I have come to the conclusion this game is completely random. At all times.

my only concern is that ballhawk is going to become a requirement. Yay for more cookie cutter requirements.

15 in ballhawk, playing aggressive.

well at this point, there really isn't any other better option for CB's than ballhawk. Whether it really helps all that much or not...

Long Reach is just a joke and isn't worth the VP. Sadly, I've noticed my CB with 7 in BH hasn't given up anything crazy but hasn't gotten any interceptions either. Although, he's playing against players 5-10 levels above him. So I guess that's pretty solid?

Today's game, almost the same exact play.

This time the WR was 56, and pretty good. Qb was 55.

Yup, fraid of a nerf, though it will equal another reset for the rest of my players

I have 3 corners. I saved all the V.P's on 1 (ba'al) and pumped up ball hawk on the other two(anubus, destroyer) to 7. Ba'al has 3 int's already this preseason, the other 2 have none.

Go figure.

My CB with no VAs allocated has 13 PDs, 2 ints, 1 TD in the preseason with one pass allowed of 8.5 yards. My point is that looking at the preseason performances have nothing to do with whether or not VAs are worth it.

Yeah, I've run several games on my dev box (which has copies of players from the live site) with it on and off, on both CB's and safeties. It's definitely noticeable when the guy sees the ball, but it really only kicks in for likely 5-6 ticks on the play, unless it's a crazy long pass or the QB is really weak and throws a duck. On short passes, you often get about 1-2 ticks to use it before it goes away because the ball is caught or dropped.

In other words, it's pretty good, but it's not quite as good as people are making it out to be. A lot of CB's don't really need the help from it to catch up, and would probably be better served by 3rd down stopper, or sure tackler, etc.

borts comment on it

this is from yesterday's changelog. Might help out some problems with overjumping related to BH,too, I think.
