I don't think anybody other than Bort actually knows what clutch specifically relates to in regards to bonuses to stats/VAs/SAs. This is the problem with some of the VAs/SAs: the descriptions are so damn vague that we have to guess what they do.
it says" bonuses towards MAKING PLAYS" so it is probably a grab bag of things ranging from attribute bonuses, to vision penalties for LBs.
Making plays, means hitting the right hole, getting a step on the CB, faking people, route running....the REAL football stuff.
i think its a good investment, but not for a backup. if the OC has "favor starters" for third and 4th downs, it is just a waste. BUT it will work on 4th down punts!!! So if you are the return man it could be lethal if they know exactly where to run to avoid the defenders. Coupled with "return man" it would be really good.
Come to think of it...the new VA system is better. it sparks conversation and actually makes you think. the only recommendation i would say is to only have 3 VAs MAX and then pump the hell out of them (assuming you have 30 Vet Points after reset...if not i would say to choose ONE and max it).
