SPARTANS STOMP JOKERS IN BBB#1 DEBUT

The Spartan defense chopped, sliced and diced Las Vegas for 6 turnovers and 5 sacks and held the Jokers to 160 yards of total offense while the Big O rolled up nearly a thousand yards of offense led by HB Quickk Six's team record 16 TD's and 653 yards rushing. Crescent Dragon Wagon paced the O-Line with 36 pancakes and LB Diqueno Butkus forced four fumbles and collected 10 tackles on the defensive side.

The defense got the ball rolling just 11 seconds into the game when cornerback Snooty McSwirlz picked off a Dan Marino pass at the Vegas 45 and returned it to the Spartan 40. The new, sledgehammer-like offense pushed the ball down the field in short, violent bursts with Quickk Six wearing Vegas down and six plays later the Spartans were sitting pretty on the Joker 5 yard line. HB TELE PORTER got his first call of the day when QB Joe Montana handed the ball off to him on the left side and behind great blocks guard by Lester the Protecter and tackle Cliff Clavin and fullback Al Blockalot, PORTER was able to waltz into the end zone for the first Spartan touchdown of the Season#9 campaign.

After a deep Barry Foote kickoff, returner Joey T-Bone took the ball to the 30 where DE Rocky "Reindeer" Blitzen decleated him, forcing the ball loose. It was quickly scooped up by DE Michael Dumass who returned the ball to the Vegas 8. Just two plays later Quickk Six rushed it in over the right side for his first score of the season and after the extra point the Spartans were up 14-0 with 10 minutes left to go in the first quarter.

With the score 21-3 with just over 6 minutes left to play in the first quarter, Joe Montana and the Spartans had set up shop on their own 40. Joe Cool worked the clock and drove the offense down the field with a series of short passes. Facing a 3rd and 14 at the Joker 23, Montana hit WR Mister Sticky-Fingers after a beautiful pick by WR X Grabbi at the 10 and Fingers took the ball inside the five after being tackled by Chris Spiker.

From the four HB Quick Six took a handoff to the right side and walked through a huge whole created by guard Praetorian, tackle Kennedy and again FB Blockalot and after the extra point it was 28-3. Just three plays later SS Jack "HITMAN" Tatum would pick off a Dan Marino pass at the 34 and return it to the house and the Spartans would close the first quarter up 35-3 and go on to a 160-6 blowout win. The Spartans next host the 1-0 Milwaukee Beermen.

SPARTANS BATTER BEERMEN, MOVE TO 2-0

With some salty D and a bruising running game, the first home contest of the Season#9 campaign was not even close as the Spartans blitzed the Milwaukee Beermen 43-0 in front of a record crowd of 24, 800 in the newly expanded Stadium of Leonidas. The tone of the game was set on the opening drive when QB Joe Montana marched the Spartans 65 yards in 9 plays with a steady diet of power runs by HB Sixx and passes to TE Sven Friedrichs and WR Xgrabbi for big gains.

The drive culminated with a beautiful Montana pass to HB Sixx, who ran a perfect wheel route right past a stunned SS Bruce McGolden with Montana hitting him before FS Josh Black could get over after biting hard on TE Friedrichs dig route going over the middle.

The game and all the momentum swung hard in Spartans favor on the ensuing kickoff. After fielding the kick at his own 10, Beermen returner El Mind brought the rock right up the gut where he was met and lit up at the 30 by back up LB Diqueno Butkis, popping the ball loose. FS GK Saguria snatched up the loose ball and the Spartans were back in business at the Beermen 31.

The Spartans were inside the 5 two plays later when Montana hit Xgrabbi on a quick skinny post that Xgrabbi turned into a 26 yard gain.

Two plays later Six rushed for his first of three rushing TD’s on the day and after the extra point the Spartans were up 14-0 with over 9 minutes still left to play in the first quarter. The route was on.

Six would rush for another touchdown in the second quarter and with a Barry Foote field goal the Spartans took a 24-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The defense kept the Beermen in check the rest of the way, racking up 3 sacks and forcing another fumble in the second half and held Milwaukee to 180 total yards to record their first shutout of the season. The Spartans take it on the road for a week#3 clash with the tough Covington Black Knights who are also undefeated thus far in Season#9.

COVINGTON’S HUGE FOURTH QUARTER SEALS WIN

The #1 ranking lasted all of one game as the Spartans took one on the chin when they visited the Black Knights in Covington. Both squads’ defenses brought their A game in the first quarter as the Spartans and Knights were only able to muster 3 field goals and after 1 quarter of action the Knights led 6-3.

It was much the same in second quarter with Covington increasing their 9-3 on a big 47 yard field goal by Harry Dunne. The Spartans cut the lead back down to 3 when Barry Foote booted his second field goal of the game, a 21 yarder with just 21 clicks left in the half. The Black Knights were able to get back into the red zone on the ensuing kickoff as Covington’s Sticky Jam returned the ball to the Spartan 19 after a 63-yard return. Three plays later Dunn would kick his fourth field goal of the half and the Black Knights would take a 12-6 lead at the half.

It was all Covington in the second half as FB TK Binta would rush for 3 TD’s and HB Drew Romine would tack on another two as the Black Knights would roll off 41 straight points en route to a big 53-6 victory. The Spartans look to get back in the win column when they host the 1-2 Camden Outkasts in week#4 action.

SPARTANS SPANK OUTKASTS, MOVE TO 3-1

The Spartan defense returned to form forcing 8 turnovers and notching 4 sacks while the offense rolled up 329 rushing yards in front of another sell-out crowd at the Stadium of Leonidas as the Spartans roughed-up Camden 45-6 to move to 4th place in the BBB#1 East. After a slow first quarter that saw the teams swap field goals the Spartan offense finally hit pay dirt in the second quarter.

After a nice, nineteen-yard punt return by TELE PORTER the Spartans set up shop on the OutKast 48. The Spartans were inside the 10 just three plays later after a nice pitch and catch from Montana and StickeyHands and two big Quickk Six runs. On 3rd and Goal, FB David Dancer got the call and took a hand off over the last side and was in the end zone untouched behind great blocks by LG Big Bubba Ray and Center Crescent DragonWagon.

Just two plays later the Spartans were back in business when the defense came up with its first turnover of the game when LB Hot Plate McGhee forced a fumble after drilling TE Dave Casper after he caught the ball over the middle and SS Jack Tatum pounced on the ball at the OutKast 42. The Spartans rammed the ball down Camden's throat on the ensuing series and on the eighth play of the drive Quickk Six took it from the 7 and the Spartans were up for good 17-3.

The Spartans started the second half on full throttle when HB TELE PORTER took the kickoff back 40 yards. Joe Montana marched the ball down the field with a great mix of runs and passes and were inside the ten seven plays later. On a 3rd & 3 from the four OC Jpin called TELE PORTER'S number and the back up HB finished what he started by taking a hand off over the right side and bulled his way into the end zone and after the extra point the Spartans were up 24-6.

The Spartans would tack on another three TD's and go on to win 45-6. The Spartans better strap'em on tight as they next travel to the first place and undefeated Lowcountry Gators.

SPARTANS TRIUMPH IN DEFENSIVE STRUGGLE, MOVE TO 4-2

Needing a win after falling to Lowcounty in Week#5, the Spartans came out and did just that with some ball control offense and some gritty opportunistic defense in front of the home folks at the Stadium of Leonidas. The Spartans opened the game with a second consecutive opening kick off forced fumble and recovery, with LB Mister Steele and DE Jackson Striker combining for the turnover. The following offensive series fizzled so the score remained 0-0. Getting the ball back after a brilliant 3 and out series which featured two Canis Lupus sacks the Spartans took advantage of some outstanding field position.

Punting from nearly their own end zone, Fort Worth punter Albert Elam's punt barely made it into Spartan territory. After a 14-yard TELE PORTER return Montana & Co. were in business at the Warrior 43. The Spartans hit pay dirt with some good old fashioned power running and a few screens to Quickk Six. From the 6 Montana hit WR XGrabbi who seemed to get a great push off the corner just as Montana released the ball and it was a touchdown. The extra point made it 7-0 Spartans with over seven minutes left in the first quarter.

A 38 yard Barry Foote field goal capped an amazing 18 play, 78 yard drive that gave the Spartans a 10-0 lead with just under 12 minutes to play in the half. But just like that, the Warriors jumped right back into the game Cannon McSlingshot hit HB speedy mctouchdown on a flare over the middle the McTouchdown took down the length of the field and after the extra point it was 10-7 Spartans. The offense was able to get a little pay back just before the half ended.

Starting on the Warrior 46, the Spartans went into their two minute drill and Montana deked the ball down the field and moved the chains, hitting four different Spartan receivers until they were inside the 5. From the end zone Montana went with what worked and took the snap out of the shotgun and flipped it to Quickk Six who made a dash to the end zone. The extra point put the Spartans up 17-7, a lead they would not relinquish.
The Spartans look for two in a row when they travel to Moss Point (2-4) to face the Tigers.

SPARTANS ROLL 68-7, MOVE TO 5-2

After a slow first half, the Spartans exploded for 52 second half points and rolled over the Moss Point Tigers to move into 4th place in the BBB#1 Eastern Conference. Leading 16-0 in the third quarter the Spartans let the Tigers get back in the game with a Jack Dempsey rushing TD. The defense then took over,

CB Angus Garfield and LB Dameon Luther returned consecutive interceptions for TD's to give the Spartans a 30-7 lead. After the ensuing kickoff the defense struck again on the first play from scrimmage when DE Canis Lupus hit HB Jack Webster deep in the backfield and forced the ball loose and LB Diqueno Butkus pounced on it and the Spartans had the ball deep in Tiger territory. Back up QB Mookie Hertlein moved the team down the field quickly and TELE PORTER capped off the drive with a nice 6 yard burst over the right side after getting great blocks from guard Praetorian, tackle Victor Kennedy and FB Al Blockalot. With the extra point it was 37-7 going into the 4th quarter.

In the 4th quarter the defense continued to pick apart the Moss Point offense. Snooty McSwirlz intercepted Jackie Jackson at the 39 and returned it to the house.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=483830&pbp_id=9232990

After a Juggalo Scrub Jr. interception HB Quickk Six put the nail in the coffin with his big 79 yard touchdown run. After the extra point the Spartans led 68-7 with 6 minutes left to go.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=483830&pbp_id=9233505

And an interesting final six minutes it was. After the Six touchdown a chant began in the Lynch Mob section and slowly began to spread throughout the crowd. By the two minute warning the 24,000 on hand were in a frenzy:

BLACK-OUT! BLACK-OUT! BLACK-OUT!

HELMET STICKERS

HB - TELE PORTER - 71 Yards, 1 TD
