The original topic was NOT reflective of our passing D as a whole, but merely our CB tandem, which is fantastic. If I said "Our pasta has the best flavor!" and you replied with "Too bad your sauce is bland" why would that be a good argument? That has no bearing on the pasta.
even a top 7 passing D out of 32 teams is solid and nothing to be ashamed of (and surely we'd be much worse were it not for our terrific CBs). And now we're top 5. I'm in no way ashamed of the terrific job our secondary is doing with the heavy load they get.
We're also tied for 4th in passing TDs allowed. Considering the average TDs allowed is 13.875, the fact that we've only given up 8 (a little over half the average) should say SOMETHING positive about our secondary.
When we regularly give up an average of some 30YPG rushing, it has left teams with NO CHOICE but to pass all day against us. We also lead the conference in passes deflected, and we have yet to face the jayhawks, Policeman Officers or Knights, while we just held a (now) top 4 passing team to less than half their average YPG (Avg 259.6, Vs us 117.5).
So then, 2 questions:
1) how is your attack relevant?
2) Did this response have enough merit?
