No i hate being envolved in this stuff because you can never get everyone happy and it always turns into a ton of bitching

I would offer to help, but it might be a short-lived stint since we are probably facing relegation (hey - wait until we're gone before starting the party). I'll throw in my two-cents as long as I'm here. Thanks.

just looked at the roster, and yeah it's covered

I know I'm not active in the USA Pro League (no players, teams, GMs, etc.) but I think that I've finally developed a formula that will help with rankings. Also, I know how sometimes formulas can be distrusting at times (BCS, anyone?) but this one is fair and doesn't completely suck.

It takes in account wins/losses, streak, points for/against, and who you've beat/lost to. If there's anything else I can add to take account on how good/bad the teams are, let me know, but right now I think this covers the most important aspects.

Right now, the formula looks something like: (100W) + (25S) + (PF-PA) + (10X)

Where W = wins, S = streak, postive or negative, PF and PA = points for and against respectfully, and X is a mini-formula dealing with strength of schedule, upsets, etc.

I picked 2 random teams from the USA Pro League, the Utopia Legends and the Detroit Dumptrucks and tested the formula on both of them, and I got these results.

PP = Power Points by the way...

Rankings as of Week 11

Utopia Legends - 1405 PP
Detroit Dumptrucks - 1366 PP

Now both teams have the same record (9-2), but Utopia has a slightly larger lead because of a 5 game win streak. Detroit gained some points with some large victories (118-0 large). The main reason that Utopia has more is because they beat the Dumptrucks during the season, duh.

I'm not saying to abandon what you guys are doing now, though. I'd just like to add a less subjective opinion into the mix.

Anyway, that's my little explination of my formula. Let me know what you think.

You can run your own formula, thats fine. I'm doing the standard PR though.
