Despite CV's explanation, it's much simpler - because they aren't winning titles here. I commend CV for not sitting back, he wants to WIN every single game, every single year. So he goes out and gets players that can help him do that. It's a testament to his fortitude more than anything else.

I do have a slightly competitive nature.

Monmouth has upgraded their roster every year while keeping the same core group of agents around. It's been a pretty cool process.

We also brought a couple lvl 50 WRs back after they spent a season elsewhere and we are adding another elite player in the next day or two.

I sold off a couple of my special teams players for cash last season and they will make their way back in the first week or two of the season. We didn't lose any players to free agency or retirement. We did let a couple go that were upgraded.

Overall, very solid class even though some of you will probably disagree because of the low levels. Now we just need to get our chemistry back up.

I mean, the Wolfpack aren't really looking for more players. If we see some we're open to replacing some of Pain's guys...but eh...we're really not into flipping on good agents just for older players.

Great class of course - wan't knocking it. I dunno, just seemed to me that if you were on a team as good as MEM there would be very, very few teams you'd want to leave it for.

Guess I'm a little surprised you have the need given the quality of the team and management, that's all.

I must say I wondered this as well as we have 100% of Shockers returning.

I am not saying we are doing nothing in free agency but could only be a couple positions where we would want to add depth and a couple agents who would move their guy for a superior build

We may add like 2 more players from here, but maybe not. And we will likely swap out one DE for another or maybe cut down to 3. That's about it for us to report.

The main thing the Wolfpack are recruiting for (slowly) is a new coordinator - offensive preferred.
and THAT is mostly to allow me to take over the defense, and Pain to take over being an actual 'owner' and recruiter again. Oh that and so at least I'll just be DCing two teams in the same conference, instead of one on each side of the ball. That can and will get messy.

It's a little complicated looking for an OC to replace me in a high profile job such as this. Or maybe I'm so out of the recruiting game that I'm clueless. Entirely possible

How hard could it be to make an AI that's 90% Strong I Slam, 10% HB Screen?

Maybe it's just me, but it didn't seem like there were a ton of players on the market this season that I thought "wow, we gotta get this guy!" There were some high-level FAs, but a lot of meh builds. Of course, there wasn't too many heavyweights folding in the offseason like previous seasons (Boston after S6, Arctic Bay after S7). I had a short list of players that I wanted and that's about it.

It also sucks not knowing which direction the sim will go this season. Hard to get a solid WR or DE to come into a situation where we've already got quite a few good players and possibly have a shitty passing or pass rushing sim like this past one.

After chem kicked us in the balls last season, we decided only to replace inactives in recruiting this offseason.

I agree, Joe...I was very underwhelmed by this ssn's FAs. The only 2 guys on O that I REALLY wanted I started working on well before FA began.

Edit: Of course, some of that has to do with it being tougher and tougher to make our team and having fewer and fewer positions I feel I need to upgrade. However, I still was underwhelmed by what was out there, but overwhelmed by how many what the hell were you thinking type builds there seemed to on the high lvl guys.
