CB Jabbar Avila from the Revolution should be voted in.

leads team in tkls and picks.

solid guy

He's the #1 CB, so having the most tackles indicates the guy he is supposed to be covering is open a lot. A #1 CB with a decent amount of picks and PD's but few tackles indicates the QB had to go to his #2 or #3 receiver more often and thus more indicative of a quality CB.

What if the CB has a high tackle number, but is also among the league leaders in picks and passes defended?

Then his name is Dweezil 'The Weasel' Jackson.

Heh j/k

Depends on what position he's playing at, #1 CB seems to get the most passes tossed his way. Then you would look at play by plays and see how many times they were scored on/blew coverage, etc.

I wish they had a stat like 'how many times the QB threw to your coverage' or % completions against your coverage or something.

Dweezil has been lucky this year with picks, but he's also flubbed some plays. I was honoured to be listed on the other thread of this sort, but I don't think he deserves the nomination. He's just got a good PR firm and a photogenic face to go with his motormouth and shameless self promotion.

Actually, I was referring to me

My cornerback is right up there on the list of league leaders in all 3 categories.

I don't know about top of the list in interceptions there. I mean, at two more than you I'm still embarrassed to be two behind Dweezil here, and there's one guy tied with me, and two more guys are between us and you and the guys you're tied with.

Edit: I just wish I got thrown at more, because my PDs and tackles are ridiculously low.

Why does it all have to be about you? Why?!

You mean Dan Gerringer of the Death Stars?

Leads all CBs in tackles (2nd in the league overall)
Leads the league in PDs
2nd in the league in INTs

I think we need to form a coalition here...

The Loyal Order of Cornerbacks Leading the League in Tackles, Interceptions, and Passes Defended.

...LOCLLTIPD?

Sounds good to me. But lets not have the same rules as the HMWHC.

Another thing on the high tackles. If you play a team(s) that run the ball to outside a lot, good CBs pile up tackles on those plays too.

Yeah, I guess the essence of my comment was that the stats don;t really always show the whole picture. Someone could have very few tackles, just a few interceptions and pass defelctions and actually be the best CB in the league as his covered target was thrown at 20 times over the course of 16 games because the coverage was so good.

so two players per position...meaning 2 LDE and 2 RDE...and 2 LOLB, 2MLB and 2 ROLB...2 RCB and 2 LCB...along those lines?

thanks

Yeah.

Does it really have to be that complicated? I mean how am I supposed to know who's been playing LG all year or LCB as opposed to RCB? I'm sure I'm not the only one that occasionally moves people around depending on the match up (or maybe I am???).

Why not make it simple 1 starter and 1 back up for each position?

2x QB =
2x RB =
2x FB =
3x WR =
2x TE =
2x C =
3x OG =
3x OT =

3x DT =
3x DE =
4x LB =
3x CB =
3x S (1 FS, 1 SS and 1 either) =

Offense is still a little more represented but at least it's close and you don't have to worry about who plays where just take the 4 best LBs, the 3 best OTs, etc. The more difficult you make this on people the less chance you have of people responding which only hurts the teams of the owners that do respond since we can't vote for our own players.

the defense needs more love. The secondary is getting a major shaft by combining FS and SS.

You listed 8 OL (10 if you count TE) but only 6 DL.

Offense is simply more segmented then the defense is so if you want back ups included it's going to be uneven. Still it's closer than the original breakdown.

If you want to make it exactly even then let's just vote for 1 player at each position.

1x QB =
1x RB =
1x FB =
2x WR =
1x TE =
1x C =
2x OG =
2x OT =

2x DT =
2x DE =
3x LB =
2x CB =
1x FS =
1x SS =

There 11 on offense and 11 on defense.

what exactly is wrong with backups for every position? It comes out even

2x QB
2x RB
2x FB
4x WR
2x TE
2x C
4x OG
4x OT
22 offense

4x DT
4x DE
6x LB
4x CB
2x SS
2x FS
22 defense

2P
2K

2 KR/PR

is this so hard?

We'll save the confusion. After the regular season, I will create a ballot. If you are voting, I'll give you a link to it... Then you fill it out, turn it in, and the world is at peace
