Keep in mind that this is supposed to be an MVP competition, and who here has ever heard of an OLinemen (and to a lesser extent a TE) being considered for team MVP, let alone for league MVP? In that regard such a list would actually reflect reality, even if something else might be more desireable.

So rename it the QB or RB award, because in reality that is the only positions that win it.

No, be fair there's a lot of defensive players with inflated stats because all they do all day is tackle the HB.

You know, threads like this show the hypocrisy of some of the people in this forum. People say that the meatballs wouldn't win without Mal, that we would suck and wouldn't be any better than a CPU team. THEN they say that Mal shouldn't be MVP. What the hell?

Doesn't MVP stand for most valuable player? If we would of been a garbage team without him, doesn't that mean he is the MVP without a doubt in your minds?

i understand what youre saying, but i think Areo deserves it more this season. ATOIAF suddenly became a super power because of him.

Em, where did anyone say that Mal wasn't a worthy MVP? And if it was down to one player per position, is be better that Areo? Don't know. Short of running him 100% against Areo at 100% too would you be able to figure that out.

Oh.

No, seriously, calm down and contribute instead of going off the handle. There's only QBs & HBs on the Offensive list, that's a bit disappointing for the C, RG, LG, ROT, LOT, FB, TE & WRs on the Offense, no? It's hardly been a stellar year for QBs either but there's quite a few in there.

Personally I'm happier about Varys getting the nod on STs than Areo.

PS: Areo > Mal. True story.

Seems like TFL and Hurries get could more love. I don't expect my DT to be on there as we lost so many games, but he led Zeta in hurries and I can't find anyone with more TFL. For TFL I just checked the hurry leaders figuring they were most likely to make plays in the backfield.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/full_player_stats.pl?player_id=256044&playoffs=0

Similar production for a top team should put him pretty high on the list.

Though Sienna is the closest to his production, so maybe they're already weighted fairly high. Regardless, TFL are huge plays. I'd rate them equal to sacks.

the fact that the best WR in WEPL this season isn't even mentioned (Brogan, yes mine) is a joke... though i understand with the powerback stuff.

next season i'll do it i guess.

One guy who is missing in this list is our TE Atkinsin, 3rd in WEPL in receiving and almost 500 more yards than the second best TE.

This. Most of the best CB's in the game will not have very many stats because they are never thrown at. If you're guy is never open the QB never throws to him, thus limiting your opportunity for PDs and INTs

Yeah if you're going to do an overall MVP, it's just not fair to include any HBs into the talk given what's been going on this season.

I think the calculations need balanced differently.

I was surprised to see Tone Romo, Belfast's QB on the list, because he has had is worst season in terms of yards since he started out in season 2 (and he was sharing snaps with another QB in that season!) His season wasn't terrible but even being in the running for MVP is a stretch. We didnt play CPU teams and still managed one of the lowest hurries/sack totals against our Oline so surely it should be they who receive the credit rather than a QB?

And I do think HBs should be included. The game is what it is. Next season it could well be another position's season to get the big stats.

Ankle Breaka is a speed/elusive back who very rarely ran from the Strong I. He was an outstanding goalline back and great receiver out of the back field. Our power back did not even make the list.

So big props to jallowe and his RB for making the list.
