Now we have no main rival since you left.

I put a suggestion in the suggestion thread about how it would be better to have 2 conferences with 4 divisions each. Then you can get divisional rivalries, divisional trophies, and actually have a schedule where you can meet teams from other divisions more regularly.

Have 1 powerhouse team per division, etc, and spread it out like that.

Say...

Alpha East: Royals, Panthers, Highlanders, Roadrunners.
Alpha West: Seamen, Penetrators, Bills, Farmers.
Alpha South: Partisans, Gamblers, Dragons, Jeaniacs
Alpha North: All, Whalers, Wolverines, Penguins.

Zeta East: Tweetys, Islanders, Seminoles, Heroes.
Zeta West: Hitmen, Ducks, Red Robins, Monks.
Zeta South: Battlers, Knights, Stampede, Gamecocks.
Zeta North: Colonels, Beach Bums, Manglers, Press.

GG, that is a very good suggestion.

You're a U-Dubian? Born and raised in Seattle, myself.

I go into it a little more too. So come lend your opinions in that thread. Make some noise.

Here's what I also added to the idea....

Schedule...

6 games home/away -v- divisional foes.
4 games -v- another division from same conference.
4 games -v- another division from the other conference.

Total 14 games. 7 home, 7 away.

The above schedule is on a rotating basis, so if the Battlers play the Zeta North and Alpha North this season, they'll play the Zeta East and Alpha East next season.

Currently you only get 1 game per intra-conference. Not enough big intra-conference rivalries. And that whole conference -v- conference thing.

You could also conduct a Pro-Bowl game from the extra week created by having only a 14 week schedule, where for one week, all the best players are gathered into a Zeta -v- Alpha Pro-Bowl game that you can watch the film on.

If you go to the news.html page, and scroll all the way down, you'll also see UW being 'spit-roasted' in a sack. Sorry, just was a good picture for the story.

I would love another chance at the Battlers. DE Brock Naylor didn't even show up for the game. 41 plays and not a single item on a stat line.

See you in the playoffs.

I hope we don't meet again, honestly. We came out of that one fortuitously. If we do meet again, both our teams will take no prisoners and there will be honor in defeat.

No worries, mate. If you've followed UW football recently, that would qualify as a "good" play for us...

I also saw a Hawks logo on our team message board, so that makes 4 on the team at least!

It was a good game, too bad we ended up on the wrong side <IMO>

I like that division break-out. I was thinking the same thing earlier this week. Even with teams moving up and down this would really help create rivalries and spur on chat in the League forums. (Not that this one isn't)

Why not just do the schedule like the NFL does it?

6 divsional games.
4 games v. same conference division
4 games v. different conference division
2 games v. same conference remaining divisions with same place as you last season.

Could do it that way too.
I only put forth the other suggestion cos it was a bit easy to schedule.
But the extra 2 games per season is important for revenue.
