My Prediction:

More bitching and moaning from people about how awful other people's predictions are, without contributing anything

Seriously guys, lol, lighten up. Its just a fun predictions thread...

Man, let me give you a bit of advice... Don't argue with a Chargers fan... They are completely beyond reason. They trolled the official Colts forum at playoff time, and the ignorance and stupidity amongst them is so thick it leaves even Jags fans in pure awe.

Honestly, Patriots fans are more intelligent and civil than Chargers fans... It's like they see the logo and it's some signal that tells them to act retarded.

Thats pretty much what's happened in this thread.

Just sayin....

That's somewhat humorous considering the levels on you team compared to your competition. Anecdotally I'd say the average level on your team is about 5-8 levels higher than the average level on ours and we play you tomorrow.

Just for fun I did some maths....

Our Team: San Dimas Sea Monkeys - Admitedly has a few ringers. Another team I was involved with consolidated players and so I had some spares. I didn;t want to deal with free-agent market and didn't want too many teams to keep track of but also didn;t want to retire the players so we signed them but used them almost exclusively for ST's since they outleveled the league.

We have 50 Total Players.
25 Players on Offense
23 Players on Defense
2 Kickers/Punters

Offense:
Highest Level 50, Lowest level 16
Average Level 33.96

Defense:
Highest Level 43, Lowest Level 23
Average Level 30.04

Legs:
Highest level 33, Lowest Level 31
Average Level 32

Composite Average Level 32.08

Our 'Median' Levels, which I did not calculate, would likely be about 29 just looking at the list, but I may be off.

Your Team: Cleveland Disco Ninjas (I checked out 'Athos ™' and I see he hasn't played any downs at all. So I eliminated him from the calculations. From your Defense I also removed Ernie "The Franchise" Sims, Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky ™, Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell ™, and Kevin UCF Smith as all of them didn't play a single down this season.

You have 51 Total Players.
23 Players on Offense (Not counting Athos ™ who didn;t play a single down)
26 Players on Defense (Not counting 4 low level players who haven't played a down)
2 Kickers/Punters

Offense:
Highest Level 46, Lowest level 26
Average Level 34

Defense:
Highest Level 47, Lowest Level 25
Average Level 35.46

Legs:
Highest level 35, Lowest Level 35
Average Level 35

Composite Average Level: 34.78

Again, I didn't calculate Median Levels but you have quite a few players on both offense and defense who are level 35+ so I'd guesstimate your median is in the 32+ range.

So quit crying about other peoples levels. Especially considering your QB and Primary WR hookup (See the league leading yards on passing/receiving etc) are both in their mid 40's and vastly outlevel most of the league and the Qb averaged over 60 plays a game. On the other hand, our 'ringers' were placed on ST's almost exclusively and averaged a little more than half as many plays per game as we tried to play our younger players as starters and give them the most plays.

Even more fun with Math!

I decided to do some additional calculations using Excel....

First, the source files so if anyone is curious:

http://home.comcast.net/~enkidu98/CDN.csv
http://home.comcast.net/~enkidu98/SDSM.csv

Each of these files is a simple, comma separated value list of the players as they appear on the teams roster page. I eliminated 5 players from Cleveland as they have not played a single down and so did not really play for the team.

Column A = Players Name.
Column B = Players Level.
Column C = Plays Per Game over the regular season (averaged)
Column D = The Product of B * C to come up with a numerical value. The higher the players level and the more plays they have had, the higher the 'value' of that player to the team.

At the end of each column, I have a 'total' value.

For Column B = The Median Player Level.
For Column C = The Average # of Plays per Game
For Column D = The Average of the 'Value' represented by # of player per game multiplied by players level.
For Column E = The Median of Column D

So For the San Dimas Sea Monkeys this result is:
Median Player Level = 28
Average # of Plays Per Game = 42.58
Average Player Value = 1207.71
Median Player Value = 1141

So For the Cleveland Disco Ninjas this result is:
Median Player Level = 35
Average # of Plays Per Game = 45.73
Average Player Value = 1689.27
Median Player Value = 1432.2

Initial Analysis shows right in the Median Player Level. Your median level is 35. Half your players are over level 35. Half of ours are over level 28. So, this right there says Qwitcherbitchin!

If we go further, or if you look at the raw data even, you'll see that from the Average and Median Player Values, we played all of our players a relatively equal amount of time. You have played your 'ringers (the guys _over_ your median level, Disproportionately. Your starting QB (Ringo) vs your Backup for instance has the following stats:

Name,LVL,PPG,Value
Ringo Smoochy,44,68.7,3022.8
The BestThingGoing2Day,29,6.1,176.9

The Level 44 guy played an average of 68.7 plays per game.
His Backup, played an average of 6.

For our team:
Rosco,29,31.4,910.6
Samson,25,36.3,907.5

The Backup averaged more plays per game than the starter for the Sea Monkeys.

It's even more interesting if you remove the Punters and the Kickers from the numbers as your have had so few plays it really skews the data especially considering I put my Punter and Kicker on KRS/PRS squads so they could make sure to get 20+ plays a game for full experience. Remove them and the disparities only grow larger.

If anyone is interested I'd say go look at the raw data and see the plays per game for their level 40+ players compared to their others.

So, whine all you want about the playoffs and how its all unfair.. waaahwaaaahwaaaaaaaaaAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

We're playing a team today whos median level is 7 levels higher than our own. Whose average Starter is even higher level than our own. Whose coach plays these starters the vast majority of plays in every game.

Math is fun!

PS - So, did you sign the really low level players to try to lower your median value and get around Bort's limitations on teams who are playing outside of their skill level?

Heh - I should have mentioned that each of our guys over level 45 (not many of them.. I think just three) averaged less than 40 plays per game and most all of those players were ST's as they all played KRS/PRS/KOS/POS.

Their level 40+ players were playing pretty much every important offensive down.

So I'm really confused (outside of the fact that he's a Chargers fan) how he's bellyaching about the levels.

I dunno how we pulled it off. I wasn't really concerned about the level difference BTW, I just thought it was funny someone was complaining about the Tadpoles when CDN is pretty well stacked. I like my guys builds and we all play well together.

Ringo & Crew walked away with how many trophies?

Thanks Dilly! You're a class Act, maybe we'll see each other more in the USA BBB Reorg!
