Nope. Rock/metal requires skill to play, rapping is talking fast TBH. I like some rappers (the band I listen to teh most has a repper as there singer), but hate ones who just yell nigga' and talk about popping caps. Learn guitar, learn how to talk, which was easier?

metal requires much skill to play. That doesn't mean every metal band has skill, but to be good metal they have skill. Pantera is one of my favorite bands, Dimebag is one of the greatest guitarist of all time.

Rap I love it, I love Rock, I love Bluegrass.... I hate new aged country. I know alot about music, and only a few rappers have talent, but the truth is, that it takes way more talent to play an instrument than to make an electronic beat and say your name 50 times. The great rappers aren't even all that great live freestyling. Only a select few of them.

DMX = washup. no talent just growls
Eminem = pure talent
ODB = Pure talent on crack
Ice Cube = Great writer, wrote for all the great rappers back in the day not to mention all his great solo stuff
Wayne = Talent
Biggy and pac = talent
snoop = talent
Dre = rapping Eminem and Ice Cubes lyrics

Even tho I say these guys have talent, not a single one is comparable to a talented guitar player or drummer. That shit takes real skill.
