I'm in a pretty similar situation. I have a level 11 kicker. I have kicking at 68 and confidence at 50.

What should I do now? I've got +2 on strength through equipment and the rest of it is on kicking. I have four SP left.

Confidence. Then, more confidence.

You'll want the 6:1 cap on kicking, then move to Conf, get that to 68 (which should put you in the 70's in a few levels). You can train AGL/VIS while working on Conf.

Also, take the equipment off STR.

I have seen advice to take kicking anywhere from the 3:1 to the 6:1 cap before moving on to confidence. It really all depends on personal preference. I took mine to the 4:1, didn't see any reason to go further (with equipment and level up bonuses my kicker will have 99 kicking at level 21, when the level up bonus decreases).

I don't think you can get too much kicking. 3:1 is far too low. I did 4:1 on my kicker too and now wish I'd done 5:1 or 6:1. ONly reason I didn't go higher before was because I was concerned with topping out at 100 and then losing level up points. Obviously, that's no longer a concern, so IMO today's kickers should go to 5:1 or 6:1

I agree with Puma. Kick/Conf to +5/+6 is almost a must if you want a top level kicker.

I'd say...

kicking -> confidence -> vis+str -> agility -> big boot -> calm nerves -> automatic

..is a good build plan. I like to keep vis/str handcuffed, things seem to go well if you do that.

A smart builder can reach 69 kicking at level 7 (might be 8, it's 7:30 AM so I don't feel like recomputing).

That projects to 95.32 base at level 40, and if you include +15%, then +6 custom and +24 for level 40 equip, you'll have 139.62 kicking at level 40.

Don't you think that is... plenty? I don't see any reason to spend another 27 SP at the early part of your career just to get another 6+15% = 6.9 kicking on top of that (4:1 x3, 5:1 x3, just a guess on what you could spend by going to 6:1 never projected it).

well, the nice thing is it's not really spending that much. Let's say it's at 69 and you plan ahead and can dump a training into it and get it to 70, you level up it's 71 and spend +4 to get it to 72. You level up and it's 73 and you +1 again to 74. You just took it from the +4 cap to the +5 cap for 8 SP.

I asked in the Strong Leg Pub whether there is such a thing as too much kicking. I guess you feel like 140 is enough My kicker doesn't have 140, but I can honestly say he "probably" has enough kicking. LOL!

However, this is where I think taking kicking through the roof pays off...and pay close attention:
* If you decide you have enough kicking, you can move EQ off of kicking or you can limit you investment in soccer star.
* If you ever decide you need more kicking, you are up **** creek without a paddle.

Plus who knows, maybe 170 kicking and nothing else is the best build anyway
