Even so, 61 tackling is not high. If 90+ Strength is needed for a HB to be considered "high-strength", defenders should be able to have 70-80 Tackling to be considered "high-tackling". The extra SP can be used to raise other stats. I'm not sure if LBs even need more attributes than HBs, you can take the stats HBs need and just replace Carrying with Tackling and you have a LB.

HBs need: Speed, Agility, Carrying, Stamina, Strength (for Power only), Vision, Confidence

LBs need: Tackling, Speed, Agility, Stamina, Strength, Vision, Jumping

Elite attributes (70+): LB- Tackling, Strength; HB- Speed, Agility (Elusive), Strength (Power)

Important attributes (50+): LB- Speed, Agility, Vision; HB- Agility/Stamina (Power), Carrying, Vision (Elusive)

Good attributes (40+): LB- Jumping (30 or so?); HB- Confidence, Vision (Power), Stamina (Elusive)

Based off of my ideas, HBs actually need more attributes that they need at higher levels to be successful. That's not even factoring SAs that are key for Power HBs.

I have Stamina on the "LBs need" list but it looks like I forgot to put it in a category, but I forgot Jumping. Do LBs need jumping nearly as much as DBs?

Also, to get back on topic here's another good Stiff Arm: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=378459&pbp_id=13780957

He doesn't fly quite as far as the SS in the OP, but it is a 300 lb DT.

LB's need a lot. And theyre lucky because most of their SA's are complete trash so theres no "well maybe I should get this SA" going on. Or shouldn't be at least.

When you say elite atributes should be +70 ,you mean that with equipment or without?

Either way, if a LB wanted to get Tackling to 60 and give +14 from 2 pieces of equipment, it would be fine. Same for getting Speed to 50 or so and adding 2 EQ pieces. I don't really have any expertise in building LBs, so this is all speculation on my part.

Terrible, absofuckinglutely terrible LB build. I canīt believ people are talking about defenders needing 90 strength to stop a power runner. Why doesnīt Haloti Ngata play LB? Or CB for that matter?

Because Ngata lacks the speed to play those positions in real life, but if you're going up against slower Power HBs with 120 Strength, then LBs might have to start building to sacrifice Speed/Agility in order to get Strength/Tackling up. It's no use having a LB with 80 Speed/Agility and 50 Strength/Tackling when the HB has 120 Strength and 60 Carrying.

guys. i have to say, a great safety is the hardest thing to find/build. 61 tackling and 41 str will not beat 100+ strength and 60 carrying.

In addition to only have 42 strength, the SS only has 45 agility. Yes, agility does help in tackling.

agility is huge in tackling for a FS/SS/CB. My FS had 30 tackling for a long time, but only missed like 3 tackles, even on dominant power backs, because his agility was pretty high. imo at least. His strength was also low.
