You're really stupid... That's actually a more realistic number.
If you look at the NFL, not very many DTs get over 50 tackles in a season unless you're an incredible beast like Shaun Rogers.

I'm Stupid? Your just another idiot who compares a computer game to the NFL. The NFL doesnt face CPU teams, players with bad builds, opponents with huge level differences, nor coordinators who fail to build playbooks\set game plans. GLB will never have stats that resemble the NFL, STOP expecting it to.

I would say the Lions looked like a CPU team this season.

I would consider someone to be stupid when they talk shit about players stats while their player plays in EE AAA like it's a tough league, maybe that's just me.

With low tackling, you won't make tackles like the two I linked to.

Maybe on the second replay (although I disagree) but I don't see how the first replay is all that different than http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=398104&pbp_id=2696058 and my tackling sucks.

well, he didn't make tackles like that when his tackling was lower.

IMO your long term aim should be to get tackling to at least 60. A missed tackle by a DT can be the difference between no gain or a first down (or TD), so the penalties for missing tackles are bigger. But I wouldn't really put skill points into it beyond the first soft cap until you're getting to the point where a single point on agility or strength costs about 4-5 skill points.

Even with something like 115 or so strength (including equipment) and tackling somewhere in the 50s my guy has still missed a couple of tackles against power backs this year.

I would also assume that higher tackling would allow you more confidently play "normal" tackling instead of "wrap-up" against power backs, which would probably mean you're more likely to stop the guy for no extra yardage after contact, instead of letting him drag you a couple of yards on wrap up. But you've got to balance getting good tackling with having the stats to actually get into position to attempt the tackle in the first place, which particularly for NTs is difficult.

Feel free to insult my guy's stats now...

I do think that DTs with higher tackling are more likely to make tackles while engaged in a block on the LOS. That's been what I've seen from high tackling DTs anyway.

I think so as well. Especially when it's the FB picking you up in the backfield. He might knock you back 6", but with good tackling you make the tackle anyway...

Tackling at 60 or higher is almost necessary. My DT has 50 < his tackling < 60, and has 8 missed tackles, most of which are 1v1's with the runningback in the backfield.

My level 39 NT has 99 strength, 84 agility, and 61 tackling. He has 13 tackles and 5 missed tackles playing on balanced.

I just want to comment on the insane angle your DT makes there.

Personally, I'm in favor of tackling equal to speed. Not for any type of ratio like purpose, I just feel that most DTs (except pure pass rush DTs, if they still exist) need roughly the same amount. Less than the strength and agility, not worth equipment, but definitely need investment. Both of mine are at 50 now, will be moving to 60 when DLG gets to 9 or 10.
