got to be careful giving a kicker too much praise. So far Stampede has been perfect all season, hasn't missed a FG or XP.

But... I'm a Vikings fan. 1998 the Vikings went 15-1 (should have been 16-0) led by Cunnigham, Moss, Carter, Reed, and Smith. Their kicker, Gary Anderson, had the perfect season, didn't miss a single FG or XP all season long.... the first kicker ever in the NFL to go with out missing a kick all season..then came the NFC Championship Game.

Anderson at the time was the all time leading scorer in the NFL, had made 420 FG's. He hit 46 FG's in a row dating back to 1997, never missing any, until the biggest kick of his career in January of 1999. He lined up for a "gimme" chip shot, a 38 yard FG with his team up 27-20. The kick went wide left... and Atlanta took the field. Minnesota was favored by 12? points I believe going into this game.. even tho Atlanta had got 14-2 that season. Well... Atlanta went on to win that game 30-27 in overtime, derailing (arguably) the best Vikings team to ever take the field, crushing our SB dreams

So, all these kicks mean nothing, if you don't make them in the big games! Now I'm going to go cry after reminiscing about the most disappointing sports game I've ever witnessed. It still hurts, oh so much :'(

Did you have to mention 98?

Of course what hardly anyone remembers is Griffith dropping one or two easy interceptions in the endzone, or an injured Randle having to play LB because of even more injuries at that position. In some ways that loss was a blessing, I doubt the Vikings could have beaten the Broncos as beaten up as their defense was.

ha yea, there's a lot of shit people don't mention about that game. Moss dropped a deep ball that would have either been a TD or put us in excellent position. Overall we just didn't play that well, the thing that will always go down in history as the most aggravating coaching call of all time to me, will be Green calling for a knee to put the game in over time rather than trying a bomb.

The reason it sucked so much, is now when they show those "NFL Rewinds" and shit on espn, ex-broncos players said in interviews when the Vikings lost, all of them (broncos) started celebrating like they just won the Super Bowl - they didn't think they could beat the Vikes.

Anyways, if i say anything else i'm going to cry.

So Antwerp, sup.

Hard to imagine, I always thought the Vikings had too many injuries on defense to stand a chance against Denver had they made it, so losing to Atlanta was probably better than losing a 5th Super Bowl. I think they had two healthy LBs left, I recall that an injured Randle had to come back into the Falcons game to help out at that position. If I remember right 5 defensive starters went out injured, hard to believe they could have taken the Broncos with those losses. The loss to Atlanta still stings though

Ahh the loss to Atlanta how glorious it was!!!

Gary Anderson having not missed a FG all season shanks a 38 yarder and Atlanta comes down and wins.
