Hello, just wanted to provide an update from the DE thinktank of GLB. The last 2 games have shown enough empirical evidences from a pool of 22 DEs that the effectiveness of Jump The Snap has been scaled back. Also, it would seem that the weighted-value of strength has been increased by Bort as well, DEs with relatively low strengths have seem production drop significantly and DEs with relatively decent-high strengths have not.

Thanks for those who is willing to listen and learn.

I had a +25 strength , +10 agility, +20 speed, situation on an OT today...still didn't so shit against him. I'm not seeing anything that can make me say that the "bullrush" works. I might as well just put him back to 90+ speed/agility, 65 strength build. At least when it fails, I know it will fail before the game.

I never said bullrush works, I'm just saying people's DE will be less effective if they neglect the str attribute. If you have str at 65 it will be good to go. Many people still build the old way where they rocket spd and agi but leave str way behind in the 40s.

After almost 8 full seasons of trying to figure out what Bort is going to do with DEs almost on a daily basis, I don't think my DE will be back for season 9 next year. I'm growing very tired of trying to solve whatever riddle there is to success at this position. I've still yet to really understand how changes were made to the sim to slow down DEs so that the game could be more realistic, YET when there is talk of power backs breaking 80 tackles a game and rushing for 500+ yards and 14 TDs in a game, defenses are told that they should simply adjust their builds if they don't like the result.

Are you really surprised that Bort submit to the pressure to scale back defense but does nothing on offense? Offense sales. This argument for "realism" is a joke. Bort should just let the players battle each other out with the numbers unless there's a clear and irrefutable disadvantage of a build over another.

You are right, DEs have been scaled back to a sense of unplayability. While Bort seems to curiously ignore the situation with the power backs.

d line is about as fun as o line now. bort should really just reduce their cost to 100 flex

I'm not surprised that Bort's doing it this way, no. But neither should Bort be surprised when nobody wants to build DEs. I've bought and sold equipment I don't know how many times trying to find a formula that works. I'm not talking about piling up 8 or 9 sacks a game against quality competition like happened in the past. Just the ability to put real pressure on the QB on a semi-consistent basis against solid competition to the point that you have an ability to impact the game in some way. And sure, if your build sucks, you shouldn't find success. But there currently is no build that is producing consistent success against higher level, non-CPU players. I'm just not going to continue throwing money into a fruitless venture, nor does it make sense to simply continue building a player who is not succeeding and hope that Bort makes a change in the future that makes the player viable again.

This is either a game where users build players and test them against the builds of other players or it's not. I like doing that. I like building players and testing them against the builds of others. But it's silly to continue building players to test them against nerfs from the game's creators. That's not the kind of competition that I'm interested in.

I love hearing all the complaints from people then you realize half the people complaining have like 100 agility and 7-9 in first step.

Say what you like, but I've reworked my player's equipment several times over the last couple of seasons with different builds thanks to an enabling owner who helped fund me doing so. None of it worked.

I regrettabley concurred. Not that we can't figure out Bort, but it seems like everytime we figured something out that Bort made some adjustments to defeat the whole endeavor. Myself and at least 20+ other DE owners are very frustrated, and many of them have drop from our unofficial testing pool to see which works and which don't. I can't say I blame them.

You can see it in the replay. He is shot out of a cannon running at full speed right at the snap.

My guess on this "scale back" is just an increase in the vision required for the "vision Check"

thats not what jump the snap is

right in the description it says it helps you pass a vision check
a vision check is
Whether or nor you get off the line NORMALLY. so if you fail the vision check, you have a delayed snap. if you pass the vision check you have a NORMAL snap.

Jump the Snap DOESNT make your NORMAL snap faster
it makes you less likely to have a delayed snap.

to put this in the easiest way to understand
IT DOESNT MAKE YOU BETTER
IT HELPS YOU FROM BEING WORSE

Or it seems that whenever you make huge assumptions about VAs before they are even available, telling everyone that they are stupid for not thinking it's the greatest thing ever, that you get frustrated when it turns out you were wrong in the first place for speaking so definitively.

Yet, instead of just being like... man, I missed on that one. You have to make a big fuss about why it's not your fault and how things suddenly changed because it conflicted with your presupposition.

And frankly, your hypocrisy and contradictions get on my nerves sometimes, no offense.

This coming from the very same guy that has tongue lashed people in the past for calling out nerfs, while you sat there carrying the torch of realism and how it "really isn't a nerf" and really just "fixing" the game to be more realistic.

Then of course when you found out your DE actually was never as good as you told everyone it was going to be, you cry foul on the system. And then of course you will contradict again, and say you never said your DE is good...

While you whine about your DE getting held up all the time. My DE has no problem applying pressure against equal and better OTs, and make tackles against HB running my way. Ever think of that?

Yes Shelby, your build "destroys mine" in Speed and Agility. But my player "destroys" yours because I know how to wisely invest SPs elsewhere. The play by play shows that.

While you continue to post every half-decent game you have as a some kind of "AHA!" moment in the face of everyone who doubted you... Except those were against CPUs and we laughed.

It's your. I don't know how many times you put you're, where it should be your. You are making everyone on this game more stupid by the day.
