well, to be specific, the RBs are going to slow down more during missed tackles/gang tackling so this is going to effect power guys who break a lot of tackles as opposed guys who tend to break less tackles.

I think this is not quite right. My take on what it says is that the probability of a missed tackle becoming a "drag" has increased a little.

The result could be that the RB has to drag more defenders, and would slow down. But it could also be that RBs who are blasting thru defenders, are instead just squeaking by them. The defender could still miss the drag roll, so there could be no effect.

Hopefully this will lead to a slow down when running through the entire OL and DL without losing any speed.

Probably not since most of the time no misses are even registered because one offensive linemen is standing near three players making them all disappear until the play is over.

Hopefully you are right though...I thought that was supposedly fixed several seasons ago, but here we go again...

way too little fluff in this update....

I'm going to go suggest that things like land mines and exploding footballs (when play is run more than 20 times in a game) be implemented

Even though they gave into all the whiners and are going to change the sim midseason, I like how they're addressing the problems - a lot better than how I imagined they were going to nerf shit.

Clearly my infodump post on GLB main forum got through. Thank you, thank you all, I know, I'm awesome, what can I say.

Or a defense just starts owning that play like in Tecmo, that was hot!

The problem isn't with tackling, its with blocking. So now those teams that actually fucking adjusted get screwed and we got pretty new colors! Awesome!

I actually agree here to an extent, right now the OL is completely dominating because the DL, no matter how hard it tries can't possibly keep up strengthwise. OLs get more natural gains to strength than DLs and DLs have 5 core atts they have to focus on while OLs only have 4. Maybe the whole collapsing OL will help some?

I have seen DTs with 115 Str and DEs with 110. They can keep their Str close to the Oline if they focussed on it instead of agility early.

I hate mid season changes but since this is easily the worst sim yet I wont bitch too much. Just sucks that we lose 2 of our first three games, get our shit together and win three in a row just in time for more changes.

Yeah, this is great for upcoming generations, but I can't fault first generation of players and player builders for going the agility route until now. The object is to win the game, and why fight a losing battle by cranking strength when you could crank agility and dominate?

I'm usually alright with mid season changes depending on what is changed, and I think especially the updated passing logic which should be coming out soon will be a big improvement.

I would think that 1st gen players would go at it with the mentality that high strength was key for a DL.

I actually own one in SA Pro...he still gets removed from the game by the better ROTs, but the guys who are built for pass blocking speed/agility DEs he just knocks over. He also has some other things going on other than strength, though I'd prefer not to elaborate.

I'm actually more concerned about guards pancaking LBs too easily (you can't expect a LB to have over 62 strength at this point especially since he had to put points in tackling too), and the FB and TE spazzing out and morphing through their own players at warp speeds to mow down anyone the guards don't get. And even without the pancakes, if all these guys just get right into the 'lane' the HB chooses, all the better because he can warp right through them.

Yea, it does suck that HBs always seem to be able to get through the hole no matter how small it is and you never see engaged defensive players being able to at least slow down the RB like they can in real life.

This is how I read it as well. I'm getting used to the fact that Bort is just not very good at explaining things.
