It would be interesting to see if a non-boosting ST unit could play at Pro level.

Interesting thought!

Patience and two pieces of AEQ per player would also help level the field.

If your not boosting you can get 3 pieces of AEQ fully upgraded. Assuming you can get decent rolls in a reasonable amount of time.

Here is the most successful non-boosting team that I know of...the former Austin BFF's out of BBB#9.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?season=2&team_id=1540

Conference Champs in Season 2 and 3, promoted to A and then to AA and got pounded in AA for three seasons before collapsing. If you started in a completely fresh league tree with caps you could have one MAYBE two decent seasons but things will go downhill quickly.

You'll have ups and downs. Can win a few leagues, then start to fall again... and then win a few toward the end of your career again once you're back in the slums.

Advice would be to stick it out, build strong players, but don't slowbuild. Go for EARLY success, because it is your best chance. Start in peewee, so you can do an expansion league going in at level 13. It is your best (only?) hope for a championship, to win it that first season. Slowbuilding will kill those hopes IMO. Well, slowbuild until level 13. You must have matured builds by your first expansion season playoffs though

Don't waste ANY points. Get a HUGE roster, and go very very low on stamina - only train stamina, so you can use the points elsewhere.

Be VERY cheap with your equipment early. Full stadium is priority. Your advantage will be in funding all equipment, which should be no problem if you level slow enough just don't be stupid and lose all your money.

Advanced equipment will be key. All players will have more bonus tokens than they know what to do with. You could probably fill all four slots with great advanced equipment to make up some more ground as well.

Additionally, training is where the value will be. Be very smart about build plans to always leave good training options. Don't be afraid to train your first stuff at 48, then at 60. You're going to have SO MUCH TIME TO TRAIN, and your disadvantage is the ability to get many stats to 68. You should support this by training your key stats as you cap them, and return to the minors in seasons 3 and beyond really.

Actually, a non-boosting team shouldn't have much trouble financially, Once they get to level 24 the upgrades are gonna come so far apart they should be swimming in money by the time they hit level 32. In fact, they level so slowly that they can have 3 season contracts and have virtually no need to renegotiate them.

Stadium is still important to a non-boosting team - but nowhere near on the scale of a boosting team, where those upgrades come so fast a team barely has time to prepare for the next one.

Here's another one: http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=6497
2nd season of this team being started up, and 2nd time barely missing the playoffs. It's hard to accept the fact that the top teams will only be replaced by other teams who are greater than their predecessors, but at least there will be a few teams at the same level as you.

I created my pee wee team last night. It didn't cost as many flex points as I thought but that was a lot of rolling.Too bad Bort won't make an entire league of non boosting 1 owner teams for us to slug it out, and advance through our own tiers.
