I say a the defensive beast "Mean" Joe Greene should get it. 13 Sacks, 24 Hurries, and 10 forced fumbles. MVP doesn't always gotta be offensive player. Just look at those numbers in awe

Meh..you could say the same thing for Greene that you say for Wai.

In three blow-outs against "non-existent" teams he's got 8 sacks, 17 Hurries, and 9 FumF.

I still think Dash should be a top candidate because he's played well against the better teams in the East and Paul Crewe, who has played great and has three truly tough games remaining to cement himself.

thank you spell police. i was sitting on that one a while, too lazy to spell check. wrong parody.

but really, do you feel it necessary to correct everyone on internet message boards? must we constantly have this conversation? what does it matter, really? was it mispelled so badly that you could not understand what i was trying to communicate to you? are you a grade school teacher? did it make you feel smart?

i'm in a good mood today, so i'll leave it at that.

agreed.... but as i said before, the 3 gimme games that you say Philly has played, will eventually be played by the other eastern conference teams. they also play these non-existent teams.

any good western conference candidates?

Why not RL Cambell/Adam Zapel/Paul Crewe who are very equal. (No stat padding freebies)

or

Larry Csonka

or

my choice: Charlie Dawson

Once again.... Completely ignoring the fact, that half of his sacks, and 80% of his Forced Fumbles came in the 2 games, where his team beat the worst teams 145-0, and 101-0.

Hardly even worth a mention.

we all have to come to realize that these stats are going to even up once everyone plays these bad teams. yes, the east will probably claim the MVP unless the west can produce a standout candidate.

in the meantime, theres no harm in some early discussion of the best performance thus far. let's here some theorys.

if you dont have a solid suggestion. don't both even commenting about the "padded" stats of these candidates. we already know who they've played, it's a given.

Asante Samuel (CB) - San Jose Spartans

legit west MVP contender.

Not only basing my pick because he's my player, but Asante Samuel is worth a look. He's playing in the West, where games don't even come close to being as ridiculous as some in the East. He's leading in tackles, PD's. Tied for 2nd in FFum's with 3. Has a solid 2 interceptions, 1 of them being returned for a touchdown.

He doesn't stand out as much if you compare him to the whole league, but where the competition is tighter in the West, he's looking pretty good.

Charlie Dawson is also a very respectable pick. He also plays in the West where the stats aren't tweaked.

Hah, was in the middle of writing my message, when you mentioned me .

Your statement about it evening out in the end is true about the Eastern teams, but teams in the West won't get to play against all the awful teams in the East, if any at all.

with logic like the "padded" stats theory....

you would take away Tom Brady's MVP because he played the Dolphins twice.

With all due respect, Tom Brady put up huge numbers on every team he went up against.

Also, i don't mean to be so against the East. Don't get me wrong, there are bad teams in the West also, but there's only been only triple digit win in the West, as opposed to the large amount in the East.

it wouldn't be fair, to ignore the top players as MVP contenders because of their padded stats, but some of their stats are completely ridiculous. When you look at a player like Speedy Claxton, who's leading the league with 8 interceptions, you assume he's amazing. When you find out that all 8 of those were in games that the closest score was 77-0, those numbers don't seem to be that impressive anymore.

I wasn't flaming you? I was correcting you so you'd know for next time. No reason to fly off the handle there, tiger.

it was about the 100th time i've seen someone correct spelling on this message board and with the "heh" it just seems a little condescending.
