so the lesson is: don't bother raising tackling over 49?
My LB has it at 42 and he hasn't missed a tackle yet. Course we haven't faced a good power HB yet, but he's still never had more tackling problems than teammates who have 60 tackling, and it all makes me think tackling just isn't worth it compared to other stats, including strength (to avoid pancakes/break blocks/stop dives for yards)
It's all about facing the power backs. 60 Strength, 55 tackling suits my LB fine until he goes against a power back and then all bets are off but that is why I have a backup MLB that is a better tackler to put in against those teams. You really can't build a LB that is going to be able to stop a power tackler and at the same time defend a really fast TE or HB in the backfield. Got to pick your poison I guess and go with it.
Completely agree, if you're up against a true power back, you're pretty well SOL.
To those saying agility will make up for your tackling/strength, look at the data I posted on the other page and the stats my guy had. His agility modified at that point was over 90.
As for if it's worth it to boost extra Str/Tkl, that's your decision, but I suspect that pretty much every team will be carrying a "true" powerback soon enough, and when you're missing 20-30% of your plays attempted, I suspect that opinion will change.
