its not a "waste", but it is the LAST thing that happenes when defending a pass, you can be a GREAT catcher, but if cant get ur hands on the ball to begin with it becomes irrelevant

but thats the great thing of glb you can make your player however you think they will be best

again I agree to an extent but why would anyone not try and improve their chances on getting an interception.

Sure it may be the last roll but it is still a viable roll that can mean you dropping/deflecting it or you catching it and returning it for a TD. Spd/Agi/Vis/Jump are all there to improve your chances in getting in the way of the receiver... catching is there to actually take that ball away and cause a turnover.

i can tell u from experience that catching is not that important, and its not the only factor is getting int's

whats more important is being on the field as much as possible(stamina) and playing to your full potential(morale = confidence)

strength and tackling i also put over catching because a missed tackle is a lot worse than a missed int (PD) and a cb that can help in run support makes the whole TEAM much better overall

it all depends on what u want from your cb, i rather the pd cause its more "bang" for my buck, and if the int comes with it even better

thats just my personal opinion and with 282 PD's in 80 career games im happy ive IGNORED catching with Jamaal

I don't think anyone's discounting the importance of a tackling CB... however, WR's are a joke in that department for a LONG time. You shouldn't really be investing in str and tackling till after all your other things are covered. I think Jumping and Catching are key to a shutdown corner.

I would even argue that stamina and confidence go before strength and tackling.

so we both agree confidence and stamina BEFORE strength and tackling ... and we both think jumping is important ...
tackling i believe is more important than catching tho ... atleast for now ...

Tackling higher can be good to stop those power backs.
Ive got 39 catch, 37 tackle and 35 strength. Im going to take tackle higher as I dont like missing tackles.

I heard that catching increases your PD and Int radius. True or False?

i really hate catching.. no cbs i have seen with good catching get more picks... i dont think it is worth the investment with sp.. maybe training it up a little but thats all i see doing with it

And how many corners have you seen with good catching?
Hardly any if that. hardly any.

one cb on my team has 60+ i have seen probably over 20 with it capped, your just stupid dude go to another forum

they have a spread sheet you stupid ass. you want to find that real quick?

They have about 1000 corners on it of all levels not many have more than 35-40 catching.

the funniest part about it, is you agreed like 4 posts before it. Quit hating, just quit. I'm better than you, get over it.

I have 49.1 catching atm... so I guess we'll see. I honestly don't see how catching can be a waste... it only increases your chance of catching an interception. This will be the first season I have softcapped catching though so I guess we can compare?

Catching increases the radius the player can reach, decide for yourself

How would you rate the importance of the attribute? I'm building my 3rd CB and taking a different road. With the first 2 I went Speed, Agility and vision first. With this one I trained speed and agility and now I'm going jumping and catching.

1. Speed/agility
2. Vision
3. Jumping
4. Catching

You had it right the first two times around =).

lool thanks

I haven't checked this thread since I posted it, thanks for the pointers. I wanted to see if a CB could get that much more interceptions with a good catching ability, at this point I,ve only been training jumping/catching so I didn't really wasted any SP.

I guess that to make the most for a high catching WR is matching him with the 2nd or best WR of the opposing team, but then again those might just be covered too much for the QB likings as he has a player who can just make the interception as well. But then again, you remove one of the main weapon of their offense... I guess only time will tell once this guy grows up.

The best way to keep your morale up isnt to have confidence, but to shutdown every WR that are in front of you at any given time.

Just my opinion tho.
