I noticed this too. I had my CB beat by atleast 5 yards and twice overthrown or out of bounds.

More passes that are not catcheable--overthrown or underthrown. Maybe Super Vision and Jumping would let you get these but not sure it is worth the SP it might take--and who knows if it would work anyway.

bort has stated that vision will come into play more with the WR reacting to bad passes. overthrown seems like impossible to catch (if wr is at full speed) but underthrown is a seperate issue. If the wr recognizes the underthrown pass and the CB is playing tight, the WR could easily adjust, make the catch, and get tackled.

There's one thing I have noticed that stands out above everything else after our first regular season game. WR energy levels at the end of the game were extremely low on my team. All 5 guys were under 55 by the end of the game and every single one of them is 40+ in stamina (we only throw 20-25 times per game). I'm not sure how their energy is factoring in yet this season but they were by far the lowest group on our team for end-game energy levels. I have a feeling that may be factoring in to the sporadic pass game some how but it's not the total story.

Pass completions are down 10-15% or higher on average in each of the leagues I'm in. My highest level QB has well over 100 throwing, 70 vision, 60+ confidence, 65+ in strength, and very high tight spiral, yet his completion % is down nearly 20% this season so far. I've also noticed that routes that have been extremely reliable in the past aren't so much any more.

or underthrown. Seems like the majority of balls thrown turn into jump balls. It feels like I am watching a NBA game as players fight for a rebound under the hoop.

That's some great analysis, HydrOshocK.

However, I'm OC'ing a very pass-happy team with lots of shotgun and shotgun5 sets - and as much as I can remember, our WR's have always ended up with the lowest energy levels, every game. Makes sense for our offense, but not for yours. But perhaps it's less about what Bort did this season versus what your team has done this season. Just my 2 cents.

I'd say go with the flow. Bort will tweak things out as the season progresses. That is what he did last year.

That's a whole lot of speculating to assume Bort will simply tweak things out. Meanwhile going with the flow can cost us our season so I'll have to disagree. In order to adapt and overcome this problem it will take countless hours watching replays and adjusting tactics to weed out pass routes that are no longer effective, plus adjusting player builds and swapping equipment which costs millions per player at levels as high as I'm dealing with. Meanwhile, there isn't any real discussion going on regarding this problem in the main forums because the stupid ass endorsement issue is sidetracking Bort's attention away from the REAL issues.

We will get the problem solved as always but it's not as simple as "going with the flow"........season 8 is a mirror immage of season 3 in regards to the passing game.

You're right, because Bort made changes midway through last season that improved a number of the new problems he created, we really shouldn't speculate that he would do that again this season. Instead, go spend your money, change your build, but don't post here with the same whining when your changes become ineffective midseason.

And perhaps there isn't any real discussion going on because there isn't any real problem going on, but I guess you can't see that from the top of the mole hill.

who the fuck is whining?? I'm responding to the subject matter of this thread with personal insight and facts, not just speculation. If you don't think there's an obvious difference in passing statistics this season then you're ignorant and naive, or just plain stupid. Step off of my nuts and pick a fight with someone of a lesser IQ next time dipshit.

There is definitely something going on. I think the solution is to focus more on Vision and catching than in the past.

mob doesnt want to have to change his wr builds, so he is HOPING bort makes a change to the passing game even tho its realistic this season

vision makes the difference between a roy williams/brandon marshall (all the physical attributes but to stupid to kno how to use them) and a tory holt / marvin harrision in the nfl so it should be the same in glb

Sorry, I must have missed the point where I said I was having problems with my build and needed to change it.

The fact is, other than Hydro, I have seen very little complaining about WRs this season compared to seasons past, and the small bit of complaining I do see is generally the same every year "how come I am dropping balls and getting passes defended?"

Bort made strength more important. Since you're only throwing 20-25 times, I'm assuming you're run heavy and your receivers have to block a lot more often. That takes energy. With the increased strength role, maybe they're getting pancaked more often, which consumes even more energy.

one more time for the mentally challenged.....there was no complaining about WRs dumbass. This is a thread about "significant changes to the passing game" but I guess you missed that in the title. I provided my insight as to what I have been seeing so far this season. I have multiple QBs and WRs and I own and GM teams in multiple leagues.....so I think I know what I'm talking about.

get a clue douchenozzle
