The test server was set up 2 weeks ago...I don't think many tests were actually started running until the off season.

I'll preface my post by saying I don't think the test server thing is a HUGE deal, but at the same time...

It seems extremely unfair that this select group of people had access to this stuff during the playoffs. Especially coming from a team like us, who don't bring in 20 GMs from other top teams and like to try and earn what we get on our own merit.

Could you say with complete certainty that Santiago keeps their 72 win streak alive and beats Krazy by 4 in the championship if Havoc doesn't have access to that stuff while no one he faces can see it?

I know I would've loved being able to see how much str/tkl I would need to go with without sacrificing too much spd/agi in our LBs before our season was ended by a powerback. And it'd only take 2 or 3 test games to easily figure that out.

There's not much of a problem now that the stuff is made public, but I still think it's an unfair advantage to those who got to see it while no one else could.

Having said that, my biggest problem with this whole thing is that it's delaying the start of next season and I feel like stuff like the D Play creator won't be finished in time now.

Frankly I don't give a rat's ass who is testing and who isn't. I think there is enough integrity in this game and the majority of the players that the playing field as a whole will be a fair as it can be. Testing is necessary for any game like this, so some people have to be testers ....big fuckin deal. They have to put in more time and be more committed providing results so the game gets better. I highly doubt they are doing it for personal gain first or that in the long run it is going to make much of a difference. I applaud the guys that volunteered for this and I appreciate their helping Bort make this a better game for everybody.
I am highly pissed at the paranoid assholes bitching about is so much that, as Menamino pointed out, it has delayed the season and most likely another AI enhancement. There are better things to worry about than this...........

My short version: this testing 'conspiracy' is dumb. Testing is necessary and makes the game batter for all of us. I have no problem with GLBers being recruited to handle the testing; the group is small and there are over 300,000 user accounts. I can understand if some testers don't want people to know given the current lynch mob going on, and all the idiotic speculation about it being an advantage doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

It's not fucking with 'paying customers' it's actually making the game more worth your money (less bugs, less nerfed builds and more parity).

I'll say more when I'm not busy, I'm sure, but this is tiring.

If GLB were a logical, consistent, well-defined sim this would be a valid issue. But as of now, we have many, many better things to complain about.

Yeah, especially considering that at least one of those WEPL GMs signed up on the test server on February 14th and has yet to create a team or a player on there, let alone run any sims ... I fully admit to commenting on a few things in regards to the Defensiv AI creator before that date though.

But I think what many people completely lose sight of is the fact that the purpose of those test would not be to identify possible exploits and then abuse them but rather to let Bort know about them and trying to figure out how to fix them.

And maybe you should ask yourself, if there are three WEPL GMs as testers, and an exploit is found and one of the three starts abusing is, don't you think the other two would catch on to that and try tp reel them in? And of all three would start to abuse it, wouldn't the rest of you catch on to that rather quickly, if three teams suddenly start doing the same crap?

Of course those who want to believe this is a huge advantage won't believe anything we say anyway, but I'd hope that most people would grant those currently involved enough integrity and credibility to not consider this an issue.

Yeah, that tester exclusive time machine that helped me to to move back this weekend to before the season and decide to bank on a power back really helped a lot. Good thing you guys don't know about that time machi... oh drat!
