I think his point wasn't that the actual return is different. But a 50 speed player adding 1 speed is a bigger deal than an 80 speed guy adding 1, mainly since the 80 speed guy is already pretty fast, so that 1 probably won't make as much of a difference as it would have for the 50.

Not a diminishing return on the mechanics, a diminishing return on actual worth. The 80 speed guy should be able to chase down the QB effectively already (assuming he can get past the tackle).

Well, although it is linear, it can also be looked at like this

50 speed to 70 speed is a 40% boost is movement speed (assuming the gains are linear)
80 speed to 100 speed is a 25% boost in movement speed

Interesting to see so many folks who believe attributes are linear.

That's good to know. I was just going on what i had seen in the thread, as i hadn't heard anything about it.
Although, just judging from how many players you have, i'd guess you know the game pretty well, so i'll go with you

I'd hold off 1 more upgrade. I like to match # of attributes (even though they may not all go to the same place)

The diminishing return I'm mentioning is not to actual numerical worth, but to performance worth. Increasing 80 to 100 is pointless if you don't have good supporting attributes/SA elsewhere, or the net performance return is better spend elsewhere.
