I'm also curious here, what exactly does Wall do for you that helps the pass rush? Doesn't make any sense.

That should do it!!!!

Yup that would do it unless you buy BIG BLUE DE ebook for the secret formula that he clearly doesn't apply to his own player.

Oh yes. I can just grab 50 SPs and apply them.

My knowledge is from the cumulative of talking to sane DE owners that are successful, and they are gracious to show me their builds.

It prevents the OT from having too much advantage on blocking and holding you.

My understanding is that Wall has nothing to do with duration of blocks and everything to do with whether or not an OT can physically move you backward.

And that would be the correct understanding.

I know it's BBB but he has performed very well all season even vs teams that outlevel him. Also up until game 12 I was saving SP's and had a total of 29 SP's saved up and then spent them all at level 32.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=682490

I also have 2 full sets of equip, 1 for speed and one for agil. If I face a OT with decent speed, I go agil equip to shed blocks, if I face a slower OT I go full Speed. What you see here is my usual build, but can go to a total of near 100 speed with VA's + equip if needed.

Both Speed and agil are past the 4:1 cap naturally, he has been slowbuilt since he was made.

I've said this before, believe it at your own discretion.

1) Speed and Agility will get diminishing returns after 75+. The days of 90+ spd/agi = sack monster are over.
2) Strength needs to be at least 3rd cap AND
3) Speed, Vision, Confidence need to be at least 2nd cap
4) FS and TV needs to be as close to 10 as possible, but don't go over 10 as it is diminishing return
5) Wall and SB need to be at least 6, they will help you shed block

Do NOT waste any in Big Sack.

First of all that build is impossible. 2 triple capped skills and 3 at the 2nd cap? Throw in two SAs up to 10, several more up to 5 and whatever other SAs are needed to meet those requirements. Nevermind 40+ stamina and some investment in tackling & jumping. I haven't bothered to do the math, but we're talking what, level 55 for all those SP? By level 55 players have reached their 10th season and their skills are degrading.

But the thing is.... my DE is probably as close to what you describe as any out there and he has 0 sacks against non-gutted teams this season. He's playing out of position at RDE, but 0 sacks. Zero. Confidence isn't nearly that high and he doesn't have 10 in any SA, but he's got decent investment in strong base, wall, shed block, tunnel vision, first step, etc. 5+ in all of those plus some other goodies. Add in +8% break block from custom EQ and 11 points into the heavyweight VA. 0 sacks in games against non-gutted teams. He cant even get a sack against teams we beat by 50+. He's lucky to get a hurry or two, not that those actually do anything.

It's been shown that FS and TV aren't nearly as effective unless they reach 7, and preferably 9-10.

I managed 3 sacks with a level 39 DE against a level 36 OT

Edit: My DT even got his first sack in quite a few games.
