One thing to consider here is that given the current environment in a *lot* leagues where one third to one half of your games are against gutted teams, a pure pancake build is going to put up some crazy numbers. Your pancake numbers against cupcake teams will be insane. But then when you play the games that count and you go up against decently built defenders that you can't knock flat on their ass every play, I don't think you are going to be as effective as you could be.

I guess I am wary of gawdy stat numbers without taking into consideration the qualtiy of the opponent. You could have half a dozen games with 20 pancakes and your season's numbers will look great, but if those are games you are already going to win 200-3, it doesn't really matter. What matters is if you can deliver in the playoffs against quality opponents.

I would not put any points into blocking at all. FBs just need to do this:

1. Get to the defender quick
2. Knock him on his ass
3. Get to the next defender quickly
4. Repeat step 2 and 3

Blocking helps you hold your block longer. Unless your HB is SLOW, you don't need blocking.

My new FB has only 27 blocking and he had 119 pancakes last season. I second capped sttrength then second capped agility, then third capped strength then second capped speed.

Now all I do is train vision and confidence or stamina and confidence.

I just wanted to make a FB that will get to the defender fast and cause a car crash for the HB to slip by. Lots of times my FB can pancake the first guy then move to a second guy.

Blocking is a waste. Its like saying that if you are building a HB you should double cap speed then CARRYING before you cap agility.

P.S my FB was in his 20s and had 119 pancakes. Thats pretty productive. Plus, with double capped agility from not wasting anything in blocking, you become more productive faster, and you don;t have wasted SP. Agility and speed > blocking

This is the plan that I'm aiming for my FB but I'm reconsidering it. Check the build:

I double capped strength then did the same with agility. Got 64 strength.

I have 4 SPs to use but I'm not sure where to go. Double cap blocking? Cap it? Forget about it?

FYI, I'm training vision + confidence atm(might go back to speed + stamina for offseason). My play time wasn't THAT great, so I'm not sure how much of a difference he was in the running game.
