I sent a message to support as well and since I have nothing to hide I am going to post the contents of that message here.

Hi there,

I wanted to send a note since I just read a forum thread where it was stated that support was getting contacted about my team colluding/gutting. I want to explain my side of the story since you won't obviously get all the facts right from people that are angry.

A couple days ago, the team that my players were on, the Venice Romantic Rockstars lost due to a missed extra point. That teams owner is dreamgirl. She is my girlfriend. She was thinking about selling her team in the off season anyway and had complained numerous times in the bugs forum about missed extra points. This miss set off her temper and she quickly sold the team without telling anyone about it and proceeded to retire a large number of her players. I took the time to look them up and they are as follows:

I signed all of my players that were on the sold team to my team, the Buncha Nobodies. I also went ahead and signed the remainder of her players. That was an error on my part and if I could release them now, I would. I wasn't thinking at the time that it would piss people off, I was just looking to give her remaining players a place to play. Those players are not on the Nobodies depth chart and will not be so for the remainder of the season. If you want to remove them from the roster, I have no problems with that.

I am not trying to cause any problems. I am a loyal customer of GLB and want to do the right thing, so please let me know what I need to do or what I can do to make sure I am following the rules of GLB. That being said, however, it is my team and I do believe that my players should be able to play for my team.

So you think signing 25 of you own level 43 players with 4 games left is fair? You claimed to be a slow build team. You took a whole team and replaced them. I don't think it matters if they were your players or someone elses it is just a crappy thing to do. You are right, you can do whatever you want with your players, but once you signed you GFs players or any other players from that team it becomes collusion. If this were a legal trade you would only be allowed 3 players from that team but by her selling the team you signed pretty much the whole team and circumvented the system.

Like I said, her players won't play a down for me. I wasn't thinking about that when I signed them. I apologize for that. We were a slow build team that was going to be a semi-farm team for the Romantic Rockstars and my brother's team. Her selling off her team forced me to change that. I had to tell the players on the team, including my brothers, and there is a forum post in our team forum that can confirm this, that I would have to let them go at the end of the season.

I want to do the right thing here but my players are my players and they should be able to play on my team. I absolutely agree that dreamgirls' players should not be able to and they will not play. What more do you want me to do?

I am still sending support messages with how wrong this is to other owners in the league that have had to recruit players to play for them. You didn't recruit any high level plays until your girlfriend "supposedly didn't want the team anymore". Did you really think signing 25 or so level 43 players to you team just before the cutoff would go unnoticed? Screw this, you basically brought in ringers to play for your team. I don't care if they are your own players! If you wanted to play fairly you would have signed your players in the off season. It would not have been to hard to find a team for your level 43 players till the end of the season. But instead you have to fuck the rest of us over by bringing in ringers. I can only speak for my self or the team I play on, but Kohor has worked hard to bring in players to compete and get to the next stage. I have been on this team for since season 4 and have been through 3 losing seasons and I thank Kohor for sticking with his team through the losing seasons. Now that we are ready to go to the next level, some douche bag brings in a whole team of level 43 players to ruin the fun for the rest of us. Yeah i am pissed off. And yes I will be sending messages to the admins daily to get this unfair crap you pulled resolved.

Look at my depth chart jnewkirk. My players aren't starting. I have sub in/sub out set to 60/61 so they'll only come in when the starters are extremely tired. My goal is to have the remainder of the season played out with the players that got the Nobodies this far with only enough plays for my players to ensure they get experience. This includes the play offs. It was not my intent to create an uproar and I am not trying to gain any advantage. If I had my way my players would still be on Venice. I can't control what someone else does, even if she is my girlfriend.

Again I ask, what was I supposed to do with my players? If you can provide me with a viable solution I'll be more than happy to consider it.

To call me a douche bag is completely unfair and uncalled for. I think I've more than shown that I'm willing to do the right thing here. In fact, if it turns out that my players are getting in the game too often and that it is having an impact, I'll reduce the sub in/sub out even further. For the playoffs, I will remove them completely.

I think that is more than fair.

Your players could have all stayed with the team, even being CPU. They would have played the rest of the season on Venice with no problem. When a team goes CPU, it just puts everyone contracts at day 40, it doesn't mean everyone has to leave, SO, YES, you had a decision, and you decided to take the cowards, immoral way of doing things and go around a system that tells you you can't do that. Maybe the Staff here will look at it and say oh well, but as an owner of a team, this is definitely not the right way to go.

Are the Wildcats upset at what you did, sure, but not as upset as some of the other teams that have a lot more at stake. Will the Wildcats beat you in the playoffs....I PROMISE you that we will....... I will do everything in my power to make sure you DO NOT win this title that is not rightfully yours...

If another team beats us in the Playoffs, that is fine, I can except that, but BN will be on my list of MUST WINS, because of the immoral, immaturity that took place on the final drop day. There were many ways to go about this and you took the most deceiving, cut throat way to do it.

I had respect for you and what you brought your team to do, and would have had respect for you next season with a better team full of your players, but now was not the time to do this....many owners have worked hard to be where they are now and now they can just throw in the white flag, because they stand no chance.

Do you see NFL teams do this ... or even the Yankees...come on, this is what the offseason is for. Sure I have done many trades to help my team, but it is different when all players are yours and you don't have to fight the free agency market and make something of your team.... No Cuthe....nuff said!!

Seriously, I didn't want to cause any problems. You all are taking this game WAY too seriously. I don't want to or need to win so bad as to have people getting so upset that they feel the need to bombard support relentlessly or to continue bad mouthing me when they have no idea who I am as a person. To call me immoral and immature is beyond belief. I had NOTHING to do with the final day drop.

I've decided I will not goal line offense or prevent defense the entire game.

I have removed all of the players that came over from Venice from the depth chart with the exception of special teams.

That's the best I can, or will, do.

why cant support place the players in limbo, then your girlfriend can let you have them back in the off season so you don't have to scrub your season

I am the GM of another team in a higher league with higher players, we are now out of the playoffs with that team. What is the difference if I have the owner sell the team and I sign all of those guys to my team to win a title? The difference is it is wrong. I built my team from scratch last season, I added pieces and I even added a few of the players from teams that folded this season. My players stuck with me and I am not about to screw them now. I wouldn't feel good about a title that way and I am sure the guys I have now would not feel good about it.

Kohor is correct, the team over there was 9-3, you could have played out the season there and probably won some playoff games with the talent on that team and started fresh next season. If you pulled this move in the offseason it would have been fine, to pull it now is really wrong.

Danbury plays you in a few weeks, you can put in anyone you want my opinion of you won't change. If noone said a word about this you would have just gone and won the games you shouldn't have and probably done pretty well in the playoffs. But now that you were caught you want to try to do the right thing. You can do whatever you want this season, I sent my PM to the admins about this and will let them handle it. I do not want to be in a league with you next year and I doubt many other owners here want that either.

I was enjoying the forum here and had respect for all of the teams and there always has to be one jerk to screw it up for everyone else. At the end of the season I am asking that you request to leave this league and start fresh somewhere else.

Kohor is right in that Cloudwalker should have left the players over at the Rockstars and they would have gotten to play there. That was the morally correct thing to do. But as much as I hate to I'm going to come to Cloudwalker's defense in a small way. The fact that the game allows him to do this is the bigger problem. It is not against the rules. As Lewk points out, anyone with higher level players could do the same thing and I bet it happens alot. There should be signing and trading caps on these leagues.

I kind of have to agree with my rival here...sounds odd to say that.

You could have easily left your players on a CPU team, or found them a team that would sign them off FA just for the playoffs this year and then resigned them in the off season.

If you can't see how tacking 25 40+ players from your girlfriends team (or anyone you know to be honest) and putting them on your team (that was mostly 25-35 players) overnight is going to look like collusion then you are a moron.

Set your team to how you want, i will play you full strength and in hopes that I will still beat you, as I think I will. I dont hate you so much that you should not try and compete the rest of the year, just take note that what happened was not right.
