Goes in a similar vein to much this season. No rhyme or reason to the running game, and quite what the problem is with Rommel I have no idea.

The game over with Berlin was equally fooking bizarre, with Paris eating up the clock to the extent that Berlin only saw 40 snaps or something daft.

I can't reveal how we cheated *this* time!

This has been a horrible season for us but that game made it all worthwhile.

Our two teams have been linked since the our first game at the beginning of Season 2 and if you ask our guys who they most wanna beat every season it's a distant 2nd for Berlin, Lyon and PPP.

Grass Root Divots are the favoured enemy

Kudos to Roj our DC for shutting ye guys down pretty much completely.


Ye'll probably finish higher than us this season tho!

Does anyone else remember their first game on GLB? I do. Season 2 Game 1. I remember the key play of the game like it was 5 minutes ago (yeah, ok, so I re-watched it 5 minutes ago! Sue me!):

Yes indeed, we yawned our way through a completion to Shea Arellano (who?) as he bumped into Coleman Swain (re-who?) and then out-jogged him to the EZ. Even back then Ser Ilyn Payne, that redoubtable headsman, was hacking them wide. We lost this one by a single point and the fires of revenge were awakened, a fiery beast roused, and the icy resolve eh, resolved to utterly crush these zebra-striped whipper-snappers should our paths ever cross again!

Ah yes, those were the days! The days where a startup franchise of level 1s could go 9-7 and slip into some playoff panties. And who should we meet in round 1? Why, it's our good friends the GRD!! So nice to see you again! Now picture this: We have pretty much whipped our kicker for an entire season for losing us Game 1, slagging, joking, and references about his mother are rife on the team boards. What could he possibly do to redeem himself in our eyes?

Ser Ilyn Payne 12 - 10 GRD.

Second-last drive, 1.45 on the clock and SIP boots us ahead by 2 (his third FG of the 4 qtr). Surely there's no time left for GRD to get back into it? Down by 2, 4th and 4.5 on your opponents' 36.5 with 1.12 on the clock. That's a bit far for a FG attempt, you decide to go for it. The season rests on this play.....

Yes, that was yours truely stepping up with the PD. And there was much rejoycing! Whatever else happened in the subsequent playoff games didn't matter, GRD were defeated and many virtual high fives were administered. [FYI, we won out and promoted, in your face Permian Panthers!]

Season 3 was a wasteland of grudge matche dearthiness though we did receive many gifts of our own asses handed to us. Very thoughtful, fellow AAA colleagues! Much to our delight, our "friends" at GRD took a leaf from the book of promotion and left behind them much gnashing of teeth, especially in Permia.

So Season 4 would see the return of our beeaitches to their priviliged position under our thumbs. Apparently they were still smarting from their just desserts and were "up for it"! Jolly good! No sooner had Narkle shouted "Tally Ho!" they were 7 up but this strange turn of events was not to last long. After a gruelling match the dancing teacher, Syrio Forel, put the result to rest whith this little beauty:

Oh there were 3 more TDs in the game after that but they were just padding. By that point we had a dead zebra walking, just not intelligent enough to know it was dead. Kinda like the headless chicken thing. Stupid zebra. We finished the season against a small provincial team from PPP in the Conference Final.

Season 5 came with GRD determined to show it's metal. I'd show you GRD's key score in this one but the replays don't show FGs. "Why was it a key score?" I hear you ask with baited breath! Beacuse it was their only one. 3-1 to the Ice & Fire and a trip to the Conference finals against some guys from Berlin. Was this a trend? Beat GRD: get to the Conf Finals? Maybe it was time to break them off some? What do you think? I mean they hadn't beaten us since a missed PAT on day 1 of season 2!

Unfortunatly the GLB Gods decided that our scheduled game for Season 6 wasn't to be, as we left GRD lagging behind, checking out our butts like a group of highschool nerds as we were shunted up to Pro during The Big Shuffle of Season 6. So we did give the GRD a break, a season sadly lacking in asswhuppery.

And so we come to season 7 and the GLB equivalent to Everton Vs Liverpool, a clash where league
form goes out the window and only vitriol, bile, small-minded stubbornness and a certain amount of inbreeding count, as these moderately sized behemoths from WE Pro Zeta go head to head once more.

It's squeaky bum time once again so don't drop the soap!
