Take a look at his carries since Season 5, this is no new concept to my team.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/full_player_stats.pl?player_id=79982&playoffs=0

Season, Games, Rushes, Yards, Broken Tackles

4, 16, 222, 1,404, 98
5, 16, 358, 2,949, 99
6, 16, 404, 2,810, 138
7, 12, 291, 2,444.5, 174

Thats our offense, we run right at you .. nothing tricky .. we arent going to do anything special for anyone .. you make it sound like we suddenly started doing something different this season.

Also broken tackles have gone up with our speed back as well
http://goallineblitz.com/game/full_player_stats.pl?player_id=44310&playoffs=0

Season, Games, Rushes, Yards, Broken Tackles

4, 16, 326, 1,634, 74
5, 16, 283, 2,032, 46
6, 16, 295, 2,191, 66
7, 12, 275, 2,113, 62

He will have a career season with broken tackles as well, but again .. having 700 rushing attempts wont be anything new for us .. its pretty much our yearly average. Season 4 is only so low on HB attempts because I gave the FB 145 carries, but post our playoff loss in Season 3 to Helsinki .. we have been a running team and it has worked quite well for us. Efficient passing, solid running, consistent team. Simple enough.

We also run at least 30 different plays each game .. I have at least 10 different runs in the playbook, that is more plays than many teams use TOTAL.

However, thanks for a comment that was more than "ur gay", I am happy to respond logically to any real statement or question, even if its by a Misc.

That was pretty much my point.....

I didn't mean it as a jab, really, I meant it as you're set up to do it, it's ridiculously effective, so you're able to it.

Unfortunately we aren't set up to take advantage of the power rushing thing, so we have to find the flavor of the season do to Borts changes that works with the setup we have, especially since we do very little outside recruiting.

The Punishers are a powerful rushing team, so you're getting a boost to that this season. If suddenly that got Borted you'd more than likely find a new way to win.

The Ninjas are pretty much the same and are seeing good success with that this year.

At this level, each team has strengths and weaknesses that it's built towards, and outside of a ridiculous personnel change it's difficult to make any big adjustments to that.

Typically Misc has used a pass heavy game, and used speed rushing mixed in in the right situation to keep the defense in check and tire them down. Our defense has typically relied on our speed DE's to help against the pass, our DT's to eat lineman, and our LB's to keep rushing in check.

Unfortunately this season Bort took a giant dump on most of that planning, so we do what we need to to compete.

If people find that to be one-dimensional, well, honestly that's what the game has become with Borts constant changes.

I can completely agree with that NotRippedYet .. we had an issue in the private forum about the topic of

"Winning"

Because well .. you can win at all costs .. which is what you can do .. Vaadwaur ran 5 plays on us and beat us earlier this season, I was less than pleased with that, because I dont find that good sportsmanship .. but in reality if you want to do all you can to win .. then yeah you do like that.

Hellas took that a step further and ran 2 plays on Vaadwaur and then beat them .. it was totally gimp, but in my mind .. well deserved .. still I dont agree with it and find it a major flaw in GLB that you can do such a thing.

So then I posed the question to my team, would they rather run a lot of plays and give our opponents a fair chance at winning, or do we just select 5 plays that we know we can rip them apart with and we run those over and over and over. My team said .. no .. they would rather have a lot of plays and be sporting and lose once in a while than play like that.

Its a choice of what is most important, winning or sportsmanship .. my players want sportsmanship .. but in the bigger GLB picture winning is all that matters.

Also, Id love to work the passing game more .. Im really trying to work on it .. but for the kind of time investment Id need to implement, test and refine a new offense .. I just cant do that .. Bort has made the game so complex that people can exploit it like they are now and at the same time it takes 10x more time to play. The randomness factor of the first 3 seasons at least made the game somewhat sporting, the biggest factor in the game was how much the scrim liked you that day.

I mean .. take a look at our WR scouting bars .. 4 of our 5 WRs have 60 carrying bars, receiving TE ... pretty much no LOLB or SS is able to keep up with him .. we COULD pass .. I just dont have time to get it right .. so we continue to rely on the fact that we can just pretty much run over everyone with our OL, TE, FB and good HBs. Honestly .. Im a political guy inside my team, I want to keep everyone happy and with as many elite WRs as we have, you think that I dont worry that they would rather play for a passing team?

Anyhow thanks for a 2nd logical post .. it made sense to me .. it said "Misc wants to win and thats how we can win," thats fine .. I can respect that .. particularly you know you want to win, when because of your success you become a target for everyone and they would all hop up and down like dumbasses if you lost. Been there as well.

This is considered "tactics" in EE Pro .. and "scouting"

Tactics have been exactly the same since the first game in the season and no scouting has been done (unless somebody else did one or both but i doubt it)

Why change a winning formula?

If you don't scout or gameplan for opponents, you won't pass with any sort of consistency. And even if you do and run out plays that appear to be effective, you COULD still have bad days....

Passing will lead you to losses more often than not in this sim...Solid running teams are superior.

I actually forgot about this thread until now since I don't spend as much time logged into the game any more.

I have to say though, that first and foremost my goal was to play it like real football (you can ask Ced about the times we've had that talk), both in strategy and in building players.

Season after season though, it's become increasingly more clear that the game just isn't built that way and Bort just didn't keep that in mind from a long-term development standpoint. We have backs that are just as strong as offensive lineman, DT's that are more agile than a CB or WR, hell, my QB is stronger than my LB and has almost caught my younger DT. We all know half the plays are junk.

The more you think of GLB as a video game, not a football simulation, the better off, and possibly happier, you'll be in the game.
