My initial take is that the running game will be completely stuffed for any team that does not have really elite running power, and the passing game will be much more wide open, but possibly with less of the 40 yard completions (hopefully).

I sincerely doubt that the proper balance will be anything near correct to start the season.

why the stuff of all but elite power running games?

I don't necessarily mean power running as opposed to elusive running, but a powerful running game (o-line) in general.

That being said, it does seem like powerbacks may be back in vogue.

I'd say that edge pass rushing may be pulled back in to realistic proportions and hopefully interior pass rushing will prove useful again. Only DTs with max agility have been able to generate consistent pressure so hopefully we start seeing more realistic #s in the middle again. I have no problem with DEs coming back down some because last season saw ridiculous payoffs in sack totals, mine included.

We've always prided ourselves on having a great D-line so maybe now I'll get to see all of them live up to their potential at once, and not just my glory hounding DEs.
