I think confidence is a much more important factor than many think. Take a look at the current VA's. A large amount of them add to confidence, and even hint at a confidence modifier in the playoffs. Confidence should be part of every throwing roll.

I'm at 2nd cap confidence on my higher level QB, and am contemplating taking it to 3rd cap before next season.

Has anyone tried one of the VA's that help with confidence? With the tougher competition my QB will be facing this season, I thought about maybe putting points in Swagger or Thick Skin.

Sounds good for QB.

QFT.

Ive seen QB after QB have a great season and then get destroyed in the playoffs against the better teams. I plan on 2nd capping confidence.

Im second capping confidence and will combine that with swagger. We will see if that makes a difference down the road or not.

The only difference between the regular season and playoffs is you don't get xp for games.

Really? Then how do you explain how many QBs stats dip in the postseason? Playoffs bring extra pressure in real football, and this is SUPPOSED to be a sim (despite it not being all that accurate most of the time).

I only have confidence at the first cap right now, but depending on how my QB plays in the next postseason I might be tempted to bring it up a level or two.

Then that would make the heart of a champion VA one hell of a red herring, wouldn't it.

I'd say facing high level competition and opponents taking game planning even more seriously due to the higher stakes.

Over-rated imo... I had low confidence last year (around 30 for a level 25 player) and my team went undefeated and won the championship and I was sacked 0 times the whole year, but hurried a lot...

Will see what happens now that we got promoted...

But what if confidence matters more in "closer" games? Sure, you could win without confidence but what happens when you and a team are so evenly matched that confidence becomes that X factor?

Personally, the QBs I have seen who ignore confidence, choke in the playoffs in GOOD leagues.

I think confidence will help you recover after a pick, and i also think it will increase how well he can throw into tight spots.

If one is not confident, then one is generally shaky or very very lucky 2 out of 3 times.

Most QBs probably wouldn't need confidence if they had been sacked zero times an entire season. Confidence helps overcome getting sacked and throwing picks. The usefulness of confidence is proportional to how well balanced the league you play in is.
