We don't applaud that type of behavior.
We also don't have sympathy for overextending yourself financially and allowing your players to be "stolen". The math to figure out how much money you make versus how much money you spend isn't all that difficult. You should be able to forecast pretty reasonably whether you'll be able to pay all of your players what you want or if you need to take some slightly lower level players that you can afford.
Also, don't try to come on here playing "the victim" when your former teammates are posting things like "florida's not paying anyone and being a douche as you've all seen so a lot of us took the oppertunity to bail..." It's not becoming. You made some mistakes (overextending yourself financially) and now you're paying the price. Deal with it. At this point, you have a couple of options. One is to learn from your mistakes so that you don't make them again in the future. The other is to keep doing things the way you have been all along. At this point, I'm not confident that you'll take the first option. You *might* be able to buy your way into a step up to the A league, but if you do you'll just get beat down once you get there and wind up right back here after a season or two.
Finally, it isn't about how big your stadium is, it's about how big your stadium is in relation to the amount of money you're paying your players. If you pay out more than you make in a season, you have to rely on your savings to cover the difference. Once the savings has run out, you're out of money. Not foreseeing this situation and working to counteract it is definitely "a rookie mistake".
I'd like to point out that I'm not trying to make fun of you or anything like that. I'm just pointing out the errors you made so that you can see them more clearly and hopefully not make them again in the future.
Also, keeping the team informed about the situation will go a long way towards engendering good will so that you might be able to keep some of your players in these kinds of situations. For instance, I have a player on a team that fell into the red and couldn't pay us. The owner kept everyone informed about the situation and worked diligently to fix it. Many of us were even willing to take pay cuts to help the team be successful. In the end, everything worked out fine and now that team is one of the best teams in its league. I don't believe we lost anyone during the turmoil.

As a GM with experience, every single trade listed above simply stuns me. This is a case study of a team who spent, and spent, and spent like they printed their own money. The first trade, for the G and DT, is defensible on the surface--the 'Topes got back two legitimate players. But for $1.7 million?! You could construct a whole new section of stadium for that much money! You can't tell me that an undefeated team, with the inside track to a league championship and promotion, needed to break the bank to such an extent for these two pieces.
A lot of these moves are pointless simply because of the level of the player in question. Spending 200-300k on a depth player is a fair sum. Spending 200-300k on a linebacker who is leveled in the teens is pointless. At this point in this league, an upper-echelon team like the 'Topes should have no use for players below level 25, with rare exceptions.
The bottom line in all of this? Here is a great team, that was destroyed by a front office* who didn't understand basic economics.
*You'll notice I say "front office." Unless he comes out and says so, there is no proof that it was florida_boi and florida_boi only who was crippling his team with fiscal irresponsibility. GMs can make trades too, and far be it from me to assume that I know who does what on a staff that I have no inside knowledge of.

I would gladly give 1.7 million for those 2 players. twice that.
If I needed them and their contracts were solid. Max cash for a good, needed player is the holy grail of ownership moves. Its the biggest bargain out there.
Well, except for free agents, but who has THAT kinda time?

kinda sad to see from both sides here. I member winger lamenting the fall of the topes before this season, but as an owner, florida has to be Pissed at his team just pickin up and leaving like that. Should not have gone down like this, regardless.

I agree. I by no means staked out his players. In defense of the max cash for those two players, Florida stated on other thread that he went into the red to trade for those players. That by no means is a smart front office move. I hate this whole situation. I had players PM me asking if they could re-join Skinz and me. Honestly, if the team was ran half decently, and gameplans and posts were in the team forums, everyone would still be there. I've had former players send me PMs thanking me for the time on the team and stating that Florida has ruined the team. I am not scouting out players, if old friends come and ask me if I have a spot for them, of course I'm going to shoot them a contract.
