Quite honestly, I have seen vision do more.

From testing for the past few seasons lots of different QB builds and focuses, this is what I have found.

Vision - Top Priority
Strength/Throwing - Next
Confidence - Next

I have found some ratio like this:

4:3:3:2

Vision:Strength:Throwing:Confidence.

Very interesting. I was thinking about trying a vision QB but it's hard to find games where you can waste an attempt, and even harder to switch gear around enough to even tempt it. What makes you think that ratio works?

do you want to trust someone that doesn't even have a QB?

A thought I had was strength vs tight spiral. Would having tight spiral at say 9 counter act the bad aspects of high strength i.e. drops/low completion %? While maintaining or even enhancing the good qualities of high strength i.e. less ints and more deep passing? Maybe instead of a strength to throwing ratio, we should be talking about a strength to tight spiral ratio?

I'm a huge TS fan, but I think throwing is still the key. Once it's all said and don't I'll have 10 TS for sure. TS seems to help more on longer passes, but the problem with high strength and drops are shorter passes. Thats why high throwing has more of an effect.

QB or not. I'm continuously testing them. (AKA, building - retiring).

I don't mean to be rude but if your experiments were working very well you probably wouldn't have retired them. Also, if you're continuously building and retiring them they're probably not reaching a level high enough to fully test them out.

Fer serious. What works for a level 5 has no bearing on what a level 40 can do.

what worked at level 20 has no bearing on what a level 30 can do, and I bet the same is going to be said when I reach level 40.

I think the most important thing that we can do right now is attempt to be 'Bort proof' as players. The game is constantly changing, and as players continually level higher and higher the way attributes work completely changes. Players are all over maxed out vision, then when they hit the 40s suddenly they're throwing picks left and right because vision is broken. I've seen the same with high throwing.

I think the overall problem is neglecting stats. We simply have to balance out, as boring as it might be. This allows QBs to make throws with a relative good amount of strength, ability to read plays, decent accuracy and quality on passes, and not to be shaken up by sacks or ints. It also prevents QBs from pushing their stats into the unknown area of "90+ vision with only 50 throwing and 30 strength", because we have no idea if the QB will make his super amazing reads keeping his limited passing strength in mind, which apparently is the case right now.

My QB is having a pretty solid year in a very competitive conference, and I think that is mostly because of the quality of my team and my balanced build. I have strength and confidence soft capped, and throwing and vision at the third cap. I have a 3/1 throwing/vision distribution in equipment (all 6 of my CE is in throwing), but I plan to add more vision when I hit 32. I'm not totally convinced that I need to take confidence beyond the first cap, but I will be working on strength at least until the second cap.

TLDR; Be balanced, don't over focus or you'll be screwed when Bort attempts to balance the sim.

I think this is a smart post. I take this tact with my DE for sure.

We have a QB on one of our teams that changed his equipment from all in strength to half and half with vision.

His picks went from 23 in 20 games to 2 in the last 7. Huge difference.

Ive seen high vision QBs throwing into heavy coverage a lot this season so I'm wary of increasing vision too much. At the moment im gonna increase strength to around 65 the go back to vis and throwing and see how that works out.
