Actually, record is one of the statistics factored into the rankings, and I disagree about your stance. If I did what you wanted to do, then we wouldn't have a ranking, we'd just have the league standings, which is already available to you by clicking the "USA BBB #6" link by your player/team name.

It is possible that a team with a lesser record could be better than a team with a higher record, and it could keep happening as the season goes on.

Let's not forget that there are only two games of data to go on. More games need to be played for these to get better.

7] Chocolate City Cha Chings (1-1), 2.1
8] Georgia Storm (2-0), 1.9
9] Cleveland Gladiators (2-0), 1.8

I think the biggest argument my teammates are making is that you have a 1-1 team above a 2-0 team. It wouldn't be so bad, but we're the reason why your #7 team isn't 2-0 right now.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=21888

As the game neared it's end, our defense really closed the door on them and we went into power running mode. We won the TOP portion of the game. How are they better than us at this time?

Did their 31-0 beating of a CPU team really mean more than our 17-0 victory over a team much more comparable to our level (and in some cases, they actually held an edge in personnel matchups.)

Even in our head to head matchup, we're a better team on paper. Look it up.

That's the issue with these rankings. It'd be one thing if this was W10 and our records were close. Maybe they've done some boosting to push them over the top. But two weeks in, that loss to us should have a stronger bearing on things. Not some their blowout win over a mostly CPU team.

So with two games of data to go with, I should go in and readjust the rankings to weight the second game more than the first?

I'll let you handle the first person that pisses and moans because weighting the second game causes their team to drop in the rankings.

Again, people Two games worth of data. We're not crowning league champions with these rankings (Or paper champions, for that matter). It's a ranking system.

I can. I'm used to people bitching at what I do... In particular, my analysis of the draft.

It's OK though, when I'm dead on three years later, if I'm feeling up for it, I do have the chance to thoroughly rub it in their face.

Geeze it's one person's opinion and really well done regardless of whether you agree where you're at.

I think it's pretty awesome that someone is doing this and even if my team ends up ranked last it's just on the team to change his mind by winning some games.

I see where you're coming from, but technically it's a compilation of statistics. I don't get to put any personal opinion into these.

I will advise my guys to let it go. But you guys who complain that we are bitching aren't ranked behind teams that you have beaten. But I want to say again that I appreciate the work that is put in by sully. I also appreciate the guys who are picking game with me in the other thread. No hard feelings. We will use it for motivation. I am sure as the season progresses we will end up where we deserve. Whether it be #7, #27, or #1( we hope ).

I honestly don't think anyone is bitching... it sounds like constructive criticism to me. Either way, it's nice to see people actually CARE about their rankings and YOUR particular system of ranking them. Keep in mind that 3 years from now, you wouldn't have the ability to gloat IF we didn't read this post in the first place.

Again, nice work and keep it up... It's adds a lot to the league.

My post about gloating was more in regards to the NFL Draft, because I'm pretty heavy into that with mock drafts, prospect rankings, and evaluations.

I get ripped for not agreeing with the majority, but my track record speaks for itself.

I just don't understand your logic...

Without ranking them by record, you could realistically have an 0-6 team at the top of the chart?

It just doesn't make sense, that's all. Two games or twenty-two games, it doesn't make sense. You have to weigh record into this more heavily than you already are. I could be wrong, I just don't understand how record doesn't mean as much.

Your running the Rankings you should STFU and be happy he is doing it

I apologize if I sounded like I was bitching, whining, pissing or moaning. Maybe if I understood how you got your rankings more, I'd be less apt to question.

I try to look beyond conventional stats when I look at teams, to see where things might go right/wrong when I do my matchups as the DC for the Cleveland Gladiators. If your rankings are more stat based, then we'll consistently agree to disagree, as most stats are highly overrated.

I was attempting to offer a little insight as to why my teammates and I were miffed. That is all. Looking back, it looks as if I got caught up in the moment. For that, I humbly apologize.

Apparently you haven't read the rest of my posts... until you do, I suggest you heed your own advice.

Can we just let this drop and move on. It's just a power ranking based on stats, it doesn't effect the playoffs or anything else involved with actually paying the game, so what does it matter? Our team is ranked higher than Cleveland, it happens, does that mean I think we're better than them, well that's debatable, I think we have an excellent team. We didn't have the better team in week 1, that's for certain, and maybe we'll find out later we still don't, but quite frankly a couple places of ranking in an owner's, not the actual game's, but an owner's, stat based ranking is not something to get upset about. Everyone that's complaining or trying to tell this guy how he should do his power rankings is screwing up the thread by making a big deal and bothering someone who was just trying to do something nice and fun for the league to look at. I don't put a lot of stock in our #7 ranking, because it's just one ranking, it's not the records, and it's not going to determine where we end up in the playoffs, if we make the playoffs, and you guys shouldn't be putting that much stock in Cleveland's #9 ranking.
