I can't really see anyone stopping there run game, All we can really do is stop them from making big plays. Unfortunately what bort did, played exactly into there hands. Gonna be tough

It was easier stopping them last season. But now bort gave run blocking steroids and it's ridiculous. At pro level nobody should be able to run for 600+ yards a game week in and week out against the best competition in GLB.
On the one hand, I kinda hope you guys beat HHW, cause then it'll be proven to be doable, and maybe we can use that as a starting point in case we meet them in the playoffs.
On the other, I kinda hope that you guys lose, cause that'll prove that something is just out of whack, which will assuage our rather abysmal loss. Cause if the Monkeys can't beat HHW this season, I'm not sure who can.
EDIT: Still, it's clear that HHW has done an amazing job with their RB + O-Line.

Nothing against HHW, they have a great team. But some NFL teams don't get 700 yards rushing in a season let alone every game. HHW is a great team but something needs to be done about running 100 percent of the time. Nobody averages 8 YPR in real life.

Yep, nice job Bort, generally love what you do with the game but this part you dropped the ball on.

I agree, but it is the case that all teams are capable of doing what HHW is doing. I can't tell if they're that much better at building players than the rest of the league, or if it's the synergy bonus (from having a small agent pool) in terms of their HBs and O-line working so close together that makes them so good.

It's both, their entire o-line is catered to running(AKA STR/Blocking), their HB's are catered to speed/agility. Not really sure about their QB since you hardly see him throw but I'm pretty sure he's got 100+ throwing whenever he does drop back in the pocket. I mean it helps being catered to 1 specific dimension but no teams in real life win with 1 dimensional football. If anything there should be some sort of drawback for teams that try and run 80 times and pass 8. Not really sure how you can administer it but something has to be done or many teams are going to quit since they know that no matter what they'll have no chance to do anything against them, no matter what they try.

Can't compare GLB stats to real life stats, especially NFL stats. GLB right now is more like high school and NCAA. The lower leagues are similar to high school, and the Pro Leagues are like NCAA. USA PRO is more like the SEC, and so on. Even in the SEC, there are a lot of blowouts. Look at Florida, they put up 346 rushing yards (8.4 average) on South Carolina this weekend, and I wouldn't call SC a cupcake either.
The offense has gotten ahead of the defense with the new AI changes. Look at this league, 19 of the 32 teams average over 30 points a game. 10 average over 40 and 5 average over 65. This is not just the rushing game, it's the passing game as well. QBs in the NFL doesn't throw 6000 yards and 70 TDs in a season either (and on the same team with a HB on pace to rush 2000 yards).
We probably have the best rushing OL in GLB, and two of the better backs as well. So we should have some success running the ball. We average at least 1.8 more yards than everyone else, that's because we are focused on running the ball. Oklahoma and Nebraska dominated NCAA with the running game in the 80s, teams won championships with the wishbone. So I really don't think "just because some team is running 100 percent of the time and winning" that something needs to be done. If everyone is doing it, then it might be an issue. Just because we couldn't stop Drago and your passing attack last season in the playoffs doesn't mean that something should be done about Drago and the passing game.
I admit that we run a simple offense (but seriously, up until this season, all GLB offenses were simple. I wouldn't call setting 50% medium pass and 50% long pass complex). But this is old school smash mouth football, nothing to it.

BTW, there are 9 teams in this league that currently average 3 yards or less per carry. I don't think they believe the running game is unstoppable. There are also 11 teams that average between 4-5 yards a carry, which is about average for a NCAA team.

Well, we'll see how the season plays out. I'd just like to think GLB as a close representation to the NFL rather then NCAA. But that's just me. No disrespect to the wangs. Great team you have but I'll take my well balanced Monkeys over the running Canes

I don't think we are better at building players than rest of the league, not at this level. There are a ton of great builds and smart agents here. I do think having the unit focusing on the same goal helps. I'm fairly confident to say that we are one of the best at running the ball in GLB. At the same time, I also acknowledge that our passing game is not so good. Give and take, can't have it all.

I think we all would like to make GLB similar to NFL, especially at the PRO level. But it's really tough. A big part of it is FA, recruiting in GLB is like recruiting in NCAA. Good teams will have an easier time recruiting than all other teams.
The current state of GLB is really like the NCAA, there are several tough conferences (PRO leagues). If we take the best 4-5 teams from each of the PRO leagues and put them in the same league, then THAT LEAGUE will be more like the NFL. Imagine if each game we have to play each other or someone like Benitos, there won't be too many blow out.

I agree and we (Monmouth) benefited as much as anyone with the new AI changes.

Drago sucks, it's the fact that we might be the only team that can convince 5+ WR's (all of which are good enough to be #1 WR's anywhere else) to split time.
