Jumping is the key to DB's. The higher the better =).

+1

at first i figured that jumping wouldnt be much a factor, but when i started pumping it really helped. its fin to watch replays of the ball being knocked down from like 5 feet away.

Those games are non-evidence right there.

but you know what i do like?? the fact that my CB has gotten an INT award every single season that he has been "alive."

those seasons are undeniable evidence right there.

vision...

proof: 58 PD, 7 int last season.

Vision is the key... 10 ints with 5 returned for TD's last season and jumping isnt capped yet.

I pretty much think PDs will be nerfed the year after next. It will sort of fly under the radar until the end of the season when people see the numbers, and then there will be a season of complaining, and then it will get tweaked.

There will have to be some compensation on the offensive side (more off target passes or something), but the numbers this year are probably going to be ridiculous for a lot of players. I think there were maybe 3 or 4 players with 100PD last year, but there are going to be a lot more this year. Partially due to gutjobs, but also due to the way CB builds seem to be advancing.

Its a combo of both. Vision is more important but jumping pulls it all together I feel. Think what you would have done if jumping was softcapped! =)

Just checked your guy, not saying hes bad but alot of your INT's/TD returns came in blowout games. I think 2 picks were in games that were somewhat close.

My CB seems to do fine with interceptions and PD's
Jumping is very important, but I also think that
improving your strength even getting it around
30-40 will help you muscle the ball away from your
defender so training strength would help but I
wouldn't put any points in it.

Better agility so that the CBs can actually get into position?

You got thrown at a lot due to mediocre coverage ability.

I am getting blasted for posting this in another thread but speed is the most important. agility needs to be at least 48, then pump jumping and vision. This has been working well with my CB.

Speed = overrated

Speed was king in seasons 1-3, but now it's not nearly as useful. Speed-to-agility ratio is much more important. The higher your agility is relative to speed, the more mobile you are on the field.

The masses of speed-first track star CBs in this game are simply not very good at following WRs on their routes and providing good coverage. Their second-rate coverage skills makes it so they're thrown at a lot, meaning they get some ints and PDs from the sheer volume of times they're targeted.

Yeah and in the higher level leagues that might be something I have to worry about however I outmatch most of the WRs I face. Ive watched all my pbp's and i dont get targetted a lot. I do plan on eventually raising my agility but for now in the level 21 capped leagues my agility is enough.

You have 41 PDs and 31 tackles. Sounds like you're getting targeted a ton.

Only 24 of the tackles are from passes and I play on medium coverage to draw the pass.
