I took a gamble this offseason by not resigning alot of people that I didn't think were up to Pro standards. I've done a decent job filling those holes back in. Alot of my backups sucked and actually hurt me when they were in, they are gone

My concern is that you didn't give them teams to promote. You merely named teams to drop down. I assume you just want the best finishers from AAA to come up, but you may wish to make that apparent.

THAT is a good idea .. if they actually talk to me again Ill find some teams to steal.

You are right though, I should have made it as idiotproof as possible.

Europe doesn't have that much quality depth as of now. This isn't bashing EE in the least, I loved it here S1-3 but the last two seasons were meaningless as the good teams gut and moved elsewhere. It's going to take more than one "fix" to fully get these region stocked with talent. Just because we're moving doesn't mean I won't attempt to help the league or any other league possibly needing outside help. I'll do what I can.

I'd wait for 2-3 seasons before expecting a true tough league. Let teams get settled and go about their business of recruiting/promoting/etc.

As for choosing which teams to "promote", I approve greatly even if it hurts league parity below. There needs to be more competition in Zeta than SGA/Prague. Neither team is head and shoulders above the rest, they just play the game correctly and the results are usually positive.

Throw in some more competition in Zeta and all of a sudden it's wide open again league wide.

Dubai has been in Pro League since S1, and we have been behind Prague since. It seems that we can't catch up to them as we try to keep our team intact from season to season. Since they started before we did, they do have the advantage, plus the fact that they most likely recruit every off season adds to it.
Level wise, we are right there but it is tough to get higher level recruits because most of our players all started as early as they did, there's not that many higher level players available. The one's that are available seems want to go to lower level teams so they can become more FAMOUS or get to the HALL OF FAME or whatever. They hardly want to go to a team that is their same level cause they can't get the same notoriety as they can at a lower level of competition. Plus with the lower teams getting stadiums built, they have too much money and can make better offers than we can or they over pay these guys and kill the market

Had it not been for my fuckup in AI, we would have held it more respectable.

And I didn't resign under leveled, bad builds. I figure it's about time we shape up into a true Pro Team. We added some monster players so I guess you'll just have to find out mid season when we are spankin' ass

We havent ever really recruited, nor has SGA. I know though for a fact that Prague has only ever lost like 10 people. I think most of those were by my choice, like 4 left to be with their own teams. I had to cut 1 because of inactivity, 1 because he wanted to retire and then the other 4 were to upgrade to someone else who was better and/or I could trust more.

SGA since I have watched their roster has added less than 5 agents, the guard last season, the WR this season, otherwise it has been just the same SGA guys.

The main advantage that I had actually from the start was that I made the game fun and serious for my players. My players all think that Im a top owner, a large number of my players have bought their own teams over the run of 5 seasons and still want to keep a player on my team because of how tight a ship I run. Its not an accident we are good, its not just because of our head start we are good, if it was all about head start, Cincinnati would be better than all of us, as they are older than Prague by something like 4 games.

What I will buy into is that its hard to be loyal to your players that you have and try to improve. It has been very hard for me to be heavily loyal to my players and at the same time I need to upgrade in certain places at times, Im dealing with that right now at CB where I have brought in some new blood. But you could be like a Merc and replace a high amount of your team or just constantly recruit like Cappy .. which is kinda the GLB standard, that no one is really loyal to a team, they are loyal to winning .. thats not my style .. but if you want to improve as a team that just cant break through with the players you have, that might be your only choice.

Thats my take at least, but if you are sick of losing to Prague/SGA or whoever else, then Id suggest you need to take action and change what you have been doing. For example .. your team is built to pass, I am not threatened by your one dimensional team, that already weakens your chances of winning against me. Scotch went so far as to build their team SOLELY to pass and nothing else, with a very max pass and min run build philosophy from Day 1 .. they were very good at one thing .. I figure that Dubai is like 70% good at pass and 30% good at run and the issue is .. the builds probably cant be adjusted to go to 95% pass where you would be truly a team to fear like Scotch was in the passing game.

Dont complain about teams getting a small head start, Greek Fire is less than 2 seasons old and is already a very good team, all it takes is putting enough work into the team and working on a strategy that has a high percentage of success.

Wow, That was a very well done post Randy. I agree totally,I never know you were that observant, I thought I had the coner on that market.

I have said to our team since we started, our strength is our depth. Our players have been fiercely loyal to the SGA, in an increasingly dis-loyal game. It is the key to winning, Our players has bought in to what we do, and its evident when we have beaten teams that have out leveled us routinely!

Randy has given a free class to success. I guess its now up to who can make that info work.

One last thing, Randy was right about another thing. It is the hardest thing in the world to turn down a lvl 28 WR, when all you have is lvl 25s and 23s. But I did it (several times), I stuck with OUR guys, and it has paid off!

Hrm so our league didnt get fixed completely .. seems that we really need to complain before Thursday or we are going to have a really crappy season.
