I like the direction, the high road approach seems to be seriously lacking in the overall GLB community and it would be great to begin it's establishment with what we've already got going on here.

I have two players, and one was in SA and the other here. I brought my SA player over because of exactly this reason. Now, I still go slumming in the SA forums just for the sheer novelty of that group, but the reason I brought my players here is because of the sportsmanship and high-road-ism of this league.

The trick to this is, if we market the aforementioned high-road-ism, we cut off a lot of potential agents. But that's more than okay. Those people who feel the need to use intraweb football dots to prove themselves will always have a home... in USA or South America, and our forums seem to be better without them. Those people who want the focus to be on the game (regardless of how competitive they want to take it) instead of the beating of the chest and comparing of the e-peen that seems to go on other places... I think if you take your idea and do it right, this league would have our more applicants than openings, and we could have our pick of the talent from year to year.

One other problem is that we'll have to expel Mean Machine.

LOL - of course, poke a hole in my theory

I'm pretty much down for this, it would be a great thing for the League. I've been here since Season 1, which makes me a de facto OPL historian, and I feel like our league has always conducted ourselves well. I think the worst it ever got was in Season 2 when Kevins4484 and I used to talk trash to each other, but it was all for the Leagues entertainment. It was when the Bandits first came up, and the trash talk was fast and furious. Those were some fun times,

There's definitely a middle ground that we need to strive for, or at least clarify what we mean by "high road." You hit it right on the head with sportsmanship, and I think ethics and humility are components as well. I think less snooty than WEPL, as "fun" as SAPro, but very respectful and respectable (low actual flaming) would be a great area to be in. We already have great camaraderie within the league, and without "demanding" respect and telling everyone that we're a real pro league, I think we've let our inter-league play and competition in tournaments speak for itself.

The high road type approach is what I love about Oceania in general. It seems to be a fairly common approach throughout most of our leagues. As we've talked about, I really hammered that home early for Samoa.

When we eventually get up to O-Pro, I'll be down for something like this.

SCACE, you have my full support for this and I think I can talk in the name of the Kava Sharks. Most of us are here since season 1 and are still keeping the flame because this league is outstanding! We prove this season that OPL has to be taken seriously because of all those tough teams owned by classy guys.

Just to say VKS is in da house

Thanks bro

Good support for this on day 1, but before we all go and put blood, sweat and tears (well, the e-version of them) into this, we do need, at the very least, near-full support.

BDC is willing to help out with whatever.

I noticed Oceania's Wiki page was pretty pathetic, with GLB now endorsing it I think we should work together to whip it into shape.

BDC's Wiki (for some reason GLB turns the link into a smiley so use this link as a gateway): http://www.glbwiki.com/index.php?title=BDC

Love the BDC website...esp. the highlight reel videos

I'm not great with the website stuff though -- I'd have to defer to someone on that.

Hey have you guys ever seen the newspaper things that they have in the game recaps section? Well that's one way we could have the OPL sports section thing. Western Europe Pro has one and there's other ones like the Kentucky Enquirer, or the Georgia Star. Also the previously suggested Wiki page thing would be good.

Yeah, um, I think I am the only one that has ever touched OPL's Wiki page. I put up a pretty lame (basic) OPL page just to get things started and have yet to even add a Nites page off of it.

Very good idea - keep 'em coming, and I'll keep the front page updated

No comments on the Gnomes?

You know, we could add a little garden gnome to our avatars, like SCACE stupid lock.

(Oops . . . did I say "stupid?")

I love Oceania because it's not full of immature morons and failed HS athletes looking to prove something. *cough* Cobra Kai *cough*

That's what I'd play on.

I was going to quote that but forgot. I love the idea of having little garden gnomes in the back of our avatars. That would be freaking hilarious.
