I was going to slow-build a Center and did not spend the initial 15 SP's, so it came to mind ... just after "The Three" were started. Rolling a Center is easy, too. The only thing that derailed the plan was the fact that 2 other assclowns signed on my D League team, making the C-spot 4 deep.

Who does that?

Well, my approach is to have the primary stat able to cap as soon as possible. It works well enough for me and makes it easier to 2nd cap that earlier and come back in the long run and 2nd cap it. You're right that they're similar, but I guess I'm betting on having one stat soft capped by level 4 and making free gains on it.

I'm still trying to determine what's best for AE. I mean, it takes a good 20+ rolls it seems to find a good peice of AE and you've got to be at 20+ to really get one. I've only found one yet on all of my players. You're going to have to pony up and splurge on shopping tokens sooner or later, or all those bonus tokens are going to be good for little.

I could see Bort nerfing carrying over Bonus Tokens in the future. If I were him I would force a diminishing return on selling back AE, like you only get 4-6 back per level when you sell it. Oh well, we'll see how that goes...

O.k. I gotcha. I see what your saying. where you will cap speed at level 4 I will be capping speed at level 5. That is a bit faster to get your primary capped.

So I guess it depends on how you wanna do it.

Because if I go intense and cap speed at 5, where you cap it at 4. I would probably be able to cap my second skill at level 7 or 8, where you would have to wait till 9 or 10 maybe. Both ways definitely have their advantages and disadvantages. But hell if you get a good enough roll you should have 19 in speed by the time you hit level 4 regardless.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this with me. It helped out a lot.

np. I'll have to consider the intense training thing. I can usually cap two attributes by level 8 depending on the roll, but I can also get to 2nd cap pretty fast as well.

Tokens, well I've managed to get two decent +3 att, +1 SA items on two of my players and have converted over to intense training. It honestly took 20+ shopping tokens to get them, though. I guess it depends on how lucky you are.

When would you train confidence in your scenario?

Probably around level 16 when speed, agility and vision are capped. train confidence and stamina together or something.

I would rather have good Catching and Jumping than Confidence. I have a level 19 CB, who has been pretty solid. I started him as a slowbuild in season 3, and he got around 40 plays a game in season 4 as the nickel CB. I will level tomorrow, and have Speed to the 2nd cap and will be working on getting Agility there. I am training Catching and Jumping on Intense. Here's how my stats will look tomorrow:

Strength: 14.75 Blocking: 8
Speed: 73.23 (+12 EQ) Tackling: 21.53
Agility: 60.63 (+6 CE) Throwing: 8
Jumping: 25.27 Catching: 25.27
Stamina: 33.36 Carrying: 14.75
Vision: 49.98 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 14.75 Punting: 10

Shutdown: 2-2-2-0-0
Speedster: 0-0-0-0-0

i think it looks good. you can probably get by, by not putting any equipment into stamina.

Yeah, It depends on if you want a couple more plays or not in the d-leagues. the first couple of levels. Either way is fine though.

You should run the pitch play at him the whole game.

I think you have a good build, I'd train strength and tackling to get strength and tackling to 25. Then I'd alternate training between the intense str+tackling and jumping+catching. I would try to keep strength, tackling, and jumping around the same amount.

Don't except anything less. It would probably be hard to pass up a roll with 16+ speed, but 10 in punting. But I would pass it up. to make the perfect build you have to start off perfect. It would also benefit you to pass up a 5'11 roll with all 8's in those cats in favor of finding a taller build. with 8's in those cats. Having patients will pay off.

After you find that don't spend the initial 15 points. save them. You will then have to choose whether or not to boost him. I would wait a full season to gain max X.p. from over night roll over.

Put all your initial equipment on stamina. you will change it to speed later and sell the stamina equipment.

Edit: By Billy Corman "There's a reason for 7 Training points out of the gate, btw. First, train Normal and get a shopping token. Buy the crappy lowest cost item. Upgrade this when you can and "store" tokens on it; when sold, you get tokens back. You now have 5 points for your first of many Intense training sessions." This is a pretty good idea. You can choose to do this or not. And it kinda sucks if everything costs over 1000 or something.

Training.
Only do intense training. save 5 then train.

Start off with Speed and stamina till speed reaches enough points + s.p. to bring to the first cap of 48(2:1). You would think speed and agility would be the first step, which isn't a bad idea either, but they offer agility and vision.

After you cap speed Start saving s.p.'s again and start training agility + vision on intense till you have enough points in agility+ s.p's to bring agility to the first cap 48(2:1).

After you bring agility to 48, start saving s.p.'s again. Start training Vision + Jumping till you have enough vision + s.p.'s to bring vision to the cap of 48(2:1).

Edit: bring speed to the 3:1 cap.forgot to add that.

once you cap str, agility, and vision, you can go a number of ways with him.

I am going to train jumping and catching together and add a few s.a.'s here and there.
I would like to try this with my 1st CB.I do have a couple questions, tho. When do you "use" your initial 15 SP ? It will go to speed, correct?

When you start a player off,you don't have enough money for equipment to begin with.I'm assuming, try to buy it when you can and put stamina in it?
I did use the shopping token to get this wonderfully cheap glove to store my tokens in.Seems I'll be bankrupt soon.Just confused in the matter of time I will be able to afford all this stuff at $300 a day. Please let me in on what I "know" I'm missing.

You can afford stamina equipment when you create your player, unless you plan on using the money to train and not sign onto a D-league team (super slow building).
