Yeah, I hated doing it, but was kinda a necessary evil when trying to find a new home.

Anyone who wants to go into a Draft Pool let me know, I will get together a group of top quality teams and vet them for ability/reputation etc.... sooner you let me know the better.

to be honest i dont know a whole lot about your draft pool idea or what it is. id like to know more though.

very understandable. i dont mind it myself though. im always going to be getting better and adapting my character to his challenges.

What I Really want to do here is have all the Vikings, Stampede and Trolls players who want to stay in WEPL enter the WEPL Draft.

The deal would be that all players have to sign a one year contract only with their new team to give them some security from new owner issues.

The Draft Order would be set by season records and/or general agreement.


Of course it would depend on the players and teams being intrested in it....


Failing that I have a list of over 30 teams, who are competitive at a high level, with experienced ownerships, who would also like to be involved in a Draft system.

But it would need at least as many high level players to work.

sounds very awesome, although scary as hell.

The biggest roadblock to that idea (imo) is that most agents have multiple players bringing up loads of conflict of interest type issues.

It's one thing to have a couple players spread out amongst several leagues, but if you have 3 or 4 players on 3 or 4 different WEPL teams, there becomes an issue of who's your real team. That tightens discussions on team forum boards about strategy or what have you and generally restricts some of the the more fun elements of the game.

I have a player on the *Cows team (AAA) and had him there despite owning the Meatballs. Several of the guys on the Meatballs have or had guys on either the *Cows or Longnecks as well. We managed okay as far as this went, but it made it a bit more complicated and less fun. Over the past 3 or 4 seasons, most of us have migrated to one team or the other (with few exceptions) just to make the rivalries stronger.

Again, just my two cents ... but I have a bunch of players, if I entered them in the draft and wound up with dudes on the HEAT, Pimps and Musketeers, I couldn't in good faith really participate in strategy talk on the team forums out of fear of tipping my hand or showing favoritism, you know?

I think maybe he is just worried about not getting re-signed.

As previously noted, AWC has several needs. Starting spots will be given based on quality of build. If your interested please PM so we can discuss.

QB - 2 (1) - May have found our QB but willing to entertain others
HB - 2-3 (1-2) - Will only take a 3rd HB if one is a KR/PR/HB.
FB - 1 (?) - I think we are set
TE - 2-3 (1-2) - Receiving TEs
WR - 4 (2-3) - May carry 5 if one is a KR/PR
C - 2 (1)
OG - 3 (1-2)
OT - 3 (2-3) - May have 1 commitment

DT - 3 (1-2) - May have 1 commitment
DE - 3 (1-2)
LB - 4 (1-2) - May have 1 commitment
CB - 5 (2-3)
SS/FS - 3 (1-3)

K - 1 (1) - May have a commitment
