We are trying desperately to achieve the 8 seed (insert wink here). So this does give some credence to your claim. From the 8 seed we hope to collect a fortune in Jumbotron revenue, convince the one seed that we are worthless and pray that we are lucky in randomness so we can rinse and repeat.

Umm, no.

Just no.

We're coasting in with no threat of not making the playoffs. Well, ok, a very small threat. The wolves or gridiron would have to win out and we'd have to go 0-3.

Eh. The Wolves or Warpath winning more is unlikely. So is DDL going 0-3. Going 1-2, however, might well happen.

1-2 gets us in. Like I said, no big deal.

Let me clarify. The Doomsday Sin are desperately trying to achieve the 8 seed...

This should be a very entertaining game between Doomsday and Gridiron...

Updated PRs

1) Boston...Close out the season with 2 tough games, but the quality and depth of their lines may give them the best overall trenches in all of GLB. That makes them tough to bet against.

2) Yotes...All they do is keep winning, currently boasting the longest W streak in the Pros, and my bet is they win out.

3) Bullets...Very good team with the toughest remaining games in the East. What they do over the last 2 games of season will make or break their hopes of hosting a PO game, as well as serve as a solid indication of just how good they really are.

4) Philly...Face an important game for both team's hosting hopes coming up against GB, as well as a draw that falls on the tougher side in week 16. Do they win out or fold their tents and hit the road for the POs. My money is on winning out.

5) GB...Tough loss against a tough Gridiron team makes the last two games must win for hosting hopes, as well as winning 1 of 2 to simply be in the POs. As it should be, we face two of the toughest teams in the Pros in those 2 games. Nothing like 2 stiff tests to earn the slot. Simply because of victories over the 3 of the 4 teams below them, we stay where we are...for now.

6) Mustangs...Important win over a tough as hell Sin team. With only 1 real game left, it'd take a melt down for them not to be in the POs.

7) Sin...Loss against a tough team, but far from a blow out keeps them at 7. With an easier game to close out the season, their game against Gridiron will very likely decide if they hold onto their PO spot.

8) Gridiron...With a big win against GB, they now control their PO fate. If they win out, not an easy feat with Sin & the Spartans remaining, they grab a PO spot. A scrapy as hell and underrated team...Wouldn't be a fun 1st round matchup for anyone.

9) DDL...Well, just cuz of the disrespect a key member of the team has shown to the league and game. My bet is that they'll go 1-1 to finish out the season, grab a PO seed and deserve the 7 slot. However, I just can't do it for a team that claims apathy as the justification after each loss, even if it's the GM and not the owner (who I can't believe I'm writing this, but almost feel sorry for because of that...getting players to care (or at least stop pretending they don't) is a challenge I'm thankful that I've never had to face on any team I've been with)...my rankings so I choose to put them at the bottom.

PS...Yell is still rated as 1A*. Call me a masochist if you must, but I actually have grown to like those guys and miss their posts.

Finally, we get respect in the other conference. These are rankings I can get behind. If more rankings were like this, we wouldn't have to secede from them.

Here is how I would rank them:

1.) Boston Nighthawks - Solid team that gameplans well and can run it down your throat or pass it all over you if they want.

2.) Kalamazoo Coyotes - They have a way of squeezing out wins in close games and they have some of the highest leveled players in the game.

3.) Philadelphia Pushovers - A very solid team. I won't say much more because I am on it and anything I say will be biased.

4.) Detroit Demon Lions - An excellent team. Once the playoffs hit they assign the rest of their skill points and tear through you all MUWAHAHAHA! - at least that's the plan.

5.) Green Bay Maulers - A solid team that gameplans well but may not have enough to overcome the top teams in the league.

6.) Chicago Mustangs - The highest levels, the best builds, so what happened? That's what they find themselves asking all too often, and a marked improvement in gameplanning is needed.

7.) Washington Bullets - If the Coyotes have a knack for winning big games the Bullets have a knack for losing them. Still they gameplan fairly well and will pull out a big win here and there. What remains to be seen is if they can when the big games when it really counts.

8.) Doomsday Sin - They benefited early from an easier schedule and are now starting to come back down to earth. They gameplan well but may not have the players to win it all this year.

9.) Gridiron Rage - They have started to improve this year in the gameplanning department, but they have always pulled out a surprising win or two during the regular season so it remains to be seen whether they can beat top teams consistently.

Now take that grocery list off your bulletin board and slap this on!

I agree completely. I've been playing all season for PO $ to help with lvl 40 EQ. IMHO, we're a season or 2 away from being able to compete straight up with the big boys on top, and that's assuming everything goes as planned (and things don't always follow plans as well as I'd like). BTW, my rankings were for regular season, not the POs. The POs are a completely dif animal. For the POs, I'd drop GB down to 6th, at the highest, maybe even 7th, and bump at least the Mustangs up 1.

For as much as I've enjoyed poking Doc/DDL with a stick (obviously, I've never cared for excuses or marginalizing opponents, but I'll let that die now), I'd say it's a toss up between them and the Mustangs for ranking 4th in the POs. The only reason I wouldn't give them the edge is that apathy is hard to turn off and I'd have to believe that it does hurt player builds...If you don't care as much, the tendency is to not study your players as carefully, assign points as well as you otherwise may and not train to the max benefit...I'd think it'd be more of a "let it ride" mind set. If it weren't for that, I'd put them at at least 4th, maybe even 2 or 3. Flat out, they're capable of being a great team.

If there is one thing DDL has proven over these past 4 seasons, they fucking suck in the playoffs.

A lot of teams in the East pretty much start the season knowing they will make the playoffs so there is not as much excitement for the regular season as there is in other leagues. Call it the "Shaq Factor". I think DDL would have to try really hard not to make the playoffs and after going 16-0 last season only to get bumped in the second round of the playoffs you can't blame them for having a "Playoffs are all that counts" mindset. I can also guarantee you that many of the other top teams (in the East at least) have had this mindset for a while even to the point of using unusual or odd gameplans during the regular season to throw people off, although we don't publicize our regular season "apathy" as much as Doc or Tim do. But if you think come playoff time DDL will not care what happens or try to win, you have another thing coming, because they may well be the second best team in the East behind only Boston.
