i'm planning on being a balanced FB and was wondering about getting this:

First Step+1 with Jump+1 $40900
or
Dive4Yds+1 with Carry+1 $50900

i'm thinking of getting First step but the jump is stupid would have been nicer to go with the Dive no? what shall i go for as both seem quite nice?

Don't worry about the attribute bonuses on AE... sure you want something useful and all, but with enough time and bonus tokens... the item will be better than any standard piece of equipment.

+5 strength, +1 jumping and +3 first step doesn't sound all that bad.

I disagree. Starting at +3 makes the item better, by far. At level 32 it'll be +7 as opposed to +5.

you can just trade it in later once your lvl 30 + and roll a better item.

Reread what I said. "sure you want something useful and all (such as a primary attribute), but with enough time and bonus tokens... THE ITEM will be BETTER than any STANDARD piece of equipment".

Plus you can sell AE back for all your tokens, once you find a better piece (only losing cash). Either way, I'll take pretty much any piece of AE over the equivalent piece of SE.

Why would any FB buy s piece of equipment that is for rushing? I am going to go out on a limb and say that 95% of FBs only get at most 50 carries and 50 receptions a season. FBs are meant to block on 90% of plays and the equipment should reflect that.

If you build a rushing/balanced FB...good luck finding a team that will put you in as HB. That is the only way it will be worth the investment

First Step and Quick Cut are versatile SAs that give boosts to speed and agility. they work wonders for blockers too as you'll get to where you want faster (read: Lead blocking). however something like Lead Block won't just cut it if the FB does get the ball.

i too am waiting for First Step btw

All my three FBs are primarily blockers, but there's a limit to how much you can put into the blocking abilities really. When you're lvl 35 you can't really improve your blocking much more. You can handle LBs and SS with ease, and you don't block D-linemen very often (if at all), so what would be the point of taking Blocking to the 3:1 cap or Spot Blitz to 9? Much better then to work on Speed/Agility/Quick Cut which help in all aspects of the game.

Got the same. I have a blocking FB however and will probably trade it in.

I have the option to purchase:
Superior Orange Shirt
+2 catching
+1 Foundation SA

What's the opinion of adding Foundation to a blocking FB?

I would say it depends on how good your offensive coordinator is.
