I wish I were a better owner. But the team is really the guys. They have experience and take as much control of preperation as anything. They understood crappy pay at the beginning to get the stadium going so they could get paid later. (They're still under paid but we are much better) And they do their own planning.

I planned to be a better owner but the best laid plans of mice and men... The only meaningful contribution I've made to the team has been to fill in all the holes for players I couldn't easily find. I have to say my team mates rock, though.

Not giving as much attention to the league as I would like, I would say GwennA treats this league with such respect and pleasantry that she deserves kudos whether she's here or not. And as to design and gameplay NBSK rock. They don't look like they totally outclass most teams but they seem to. Their is group think going on there that I'd love to be a fly on the wall for.

I have to take myself out of that. Sicarius did almost all of the work. I might bring him a player every once in a while, that we might be able to use, but other thanthet, he does 90% of the leg work. That is why I gave him the team, with this season already bought and paid for.

I bought the team when it was gutted, because someone had to. Put in some great GMs, with Sicarius, and Swampthing13, and since then the team has started to slimb out from the worst thing that could have happened to them.

So, my thanks to all the players who have signed with the Shadowblades over the past 3 seasons, and hopefully many more seasons to come.

Thanks guys, but like other have already stated it the owners, gm's and player that make the teams what they are. You have to have the right mix to make it work, and some of us have that right mix....others don't.

Thats what the Bucs are about, all for one, and one for all.

Thanks to the couple of you who brought me up.
Which is especially surprising, since I don't own the Hustlers and never have. That honor goes to Booster - who would definitely get a nomination from me were this one of the last few seasons. He's been a stellar owner, and what success we've had all starts there.

I do have the honor of having a few people from this league over on the team I do own in the new Canadian BBB's, which has helped me get to know some folks more.

Honestly though, as things stand, my vote would have to be split between the owners of the Shadowblades, Gremlins, High Rollers and Showboats - being part of the 2rd or occasionally 3rd tier teams for so long, then rebuilding season after season into the contenders they are, or are becoming takes serious dedication, whatever they say. The fact they've retained the guys they have speaks to their quality as owners.

Honorable mention to Salem's owner for the rebuild job he did on the Jersey Boyz.

Ton of deserving people though.

Thank you Gwenn, I think we have done very well for ourselfs this season. I was most impressed that we only lost to NBSK by 4 points and we did not allow a single offensive TD to Gulf State. That goes to show how far we have come.

I feel like I need to stick up for SD a little here... owner was my brother-in-law and the team was my idea to get our Fantasy League members together in the offseason... work/life balance coupled with seasonal strat changes and Hurricane Ike (missed stadium expansion due to no power) really nerfed us and was going to have long-term effects on our competitiveness ... we also had a couple GM's that took the liberty of trading themselves off the team - guys we know IRL... Hopefully someone can make this a better team for BBB#15.

We are very sympathethic to the gut-job this looks like but we were just flat-out overextended. Y'all are a great league and hopefully we meet in the Pro's someday.

It's a big club. Of course, now that a few new teams have a shot to get in they've done away with the playoff bonus!

Thanks Gwenn, but you (and many others here) get credit for part of our success due to the tips you provided early on. Without that our (still) growing pains would be significantly worse!

One thing that stands out from this thread is that in reality, almost every owner and front office group here should get votes. Some for creating the powerhouse squads that stalk their prey like so many lame wildebeasts; others for the efforts put in to rebuilding in a hellacious league; and others for their various contributions to both their own teams and the league as a whole. It speaks volumes about this group that most are willing (to a point ) to help out new owners and try to raise the overall competitiveness of the league.
