Knick has a point. When is anyone, ever, anywhere, going to need to know the interquartile range of the results of Steve's and Jimbo's math tests over three years?

I think the rationale of "academia" is that if you can do that sort of math easily, then doing your normal day to day work shouldn't pose any problem at all, not to mention the things you need to do for yourself that require some knowledge of mathematical principles. If things were working properly, then we wouldn't all know so many idiots at our jobs, and people would actually understand the principles of staggered interest rates on home mortgages...

with lexington and anonymous losing today, michigan and seattle have now
clinched playoff berths.
with milwaukee's win, tulsa is now eliminated.
chicago and albany are now also eliminated, as the 6-8 spots gain a little
separation.

Guessing your not good at math?
eh... i was alright. Enjoyed it actually until I hit Geometry (maybe it was that asshole teacher... me and JDaniels spent most of the course sitting out in the hallway cuz he didn't wanna deal with us)
and after that it just pisses me off that public schools REQUIRE you take it even though they are for a limited number of career fields. I'm a Journalism major, wanna ask me how many times ima need to know what the fuck a standard deviation is?
Well, as a journalism major, if you happen to be a journalist, you probably would need to know what standard deviation is if you ever use statistical studies as a basis for your story, which most journalists do.

Try and just SAY the word "standard deviation" on air, you'll lose tons of viewers who; in all honesty don't care about anything more in depth than x%
Nobody cares if the news is right, or intelligent for that matter, they just want to see the local weather in between commercial breaks

Just because you DIDN'T use math I say you're right.
