People need to realise different positions are built differently. Go ahead, make a DT with high agility/speed and lower strength, it more than likely wont work. Know why? You can bounce off and try to juke the o-linemen all you want, the only thing you are going to do is run into either the center or the LOT if you do go to the outside of the guard. On top of the, DTs have a very limited range of actual useful pass rushing SAs.

DEs are a completely different concept, and I have been saying for the past couple seasons, as many others have been, that you can use points elsewhere than strength far more effectively.

The main reason I think that str is necessary for DTs is I have seen some DEs that are made more to shed blocks and work around instead of going straight around the OT and they always blend str and agi.

It is because you KNOW they are going to get into a block, while DEs have a chance to completely avoid contact with a blocker. DTs don't have that convenience.
