I think it will take until season 10 or 11, until D-league makes the playoffs.

I think all of you that doubt the ability of slow build teams are idiots....I expect by next season (maybe the second half) that D League will start winning games that you didn't expect them to. They will probably make the playoffs, but won't win it all....the season after that....watch out as they will be manhandling most of you.

agreed I have a player on a slow build team myself and we aren't exactly getting killed every game our builds and depth are going to be unstoppable here in a season or two more.

I think we can squeak out 3-4 more wins this season. Next year I think for sure we make the playoffs.

For example

My NT on the team

72 strength, 54 agility, 48 tackling, NO EQUIPMENT ON

That slow build better speed up in a hurry.

This is one of the big tricks with slow build teams. People get hung up looking at what level they are and don't realize that the slow team got far more out of the training on the way up than what a normal build team got. They might be 5 levels behind you, but their across the board stats (especially in the important areas) are going to be much higher than what you have. The bottom line is they will perform like players several levels above them because they have at least the same stats if not higher. They also have the advantage in being able to adjust to things Bort has introduced into the league in the way of changes. Builds that were good a couple of seasons ago now struggle to do the job and it is harder to fix them while newer builds are more reflective of the game as it is today.

This is also one of the reasons why the game is having some issues and why it is hard to find higher level free agents to sign to teams. There are a lot of old higher level players being retired because their builds are poor by the standards of today. People retire them and start fresh with new ones since they know about the tactic and also have learned a lot about the game after the first go around.

One of the things with league realignment that the head folks are going to have to consider is they simply can't look at levels as a requirement on where to place teams at. A slow build team in their early 20's can easily knock the snot out of a old skool team in their late 20's. A slow build team in their early 20's will rape a traditional team in their early 20's. So the trick is by what criteria do you look at a team and determine where they belong?

From everything I have seen Klydon our team if probably next year from being very good. Most of our main att's are double capped and a hell of a lot of them are even triple capped. I don't think there are many teams in this league that can say that.

Also EVERY SINGLE build on our team is going to be one that teams would drool over. That is also something hard to find on a normal team. They have all also been built for purpose. Design on the teams needs. Speed rushers, Super strong DT's Coverage LB's Speed WR's Possession WR's. It is not like we pick and chose players from FA, we built them with purpose from the ground up.

I guess we'll all have to watch out and see how the chips fall next season.

The slow build is the way to go. All my players stay in the D-league until lvl 13 at least, by then the slow part is done and i build them to play the rest of the way. I can only imagine what a whole team genetically engineered to play as a unit will do.

A good majority of my players have been in A+ or Pro level leagues since season two, and I brought a couple of my players DOWN to help out a few friends on the Blackreign, so I have never personally slow built players.

Being a league doormat for 2-3 season never appealed to me. I don't have the patience.

I would rather be the league doormat for two or three seasons and build a team I want as opposed to going to FA's and settling for less then stellar builds that don't even fit the master plan.

What does the bolded portion have to do with anything?

As crazy said it's better to be a doormat for a bit and build a team the way you want it, then find halfassed owners via FA....which if you've never done that is a royal pain in the ass....and to find people with good builds in FA makes the task even more difficult.
