Well - it said that in order to trigger the Automatic SA - you had to have:-
K 50, Ag 25 & Conf 30





if its the one i'm thinking of. Bort said that was a myth.

It is a myth. Just rumours and speculation spread by someone who thinks they've "cracked the code."

As I've put more SP into Big Boot, I've gotten worse at XPs (but not short FGs). It's got me wondering whether the delta between your highest and lowest SA makes a difference.

Has anyone read anything that would indicate (one way or the other) whether this idea has any merit?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Probably not
