LOl, not trying to be a dick, but I did build the HBB and My own team Melbourne so the whole how to build a stadium thing I got down, but The problem is only the owner can take out a loan, and although I have asked him in both offseasons to do just that, he has not done so and he waited until day 2 of the season to do it this year after not only did we discuss the time frame in which it is necessary after last seasons failure to do so, but I sent him a PM this season specifically telling him when to do it, and since we had a negative balance and couldnt afford to sign the FA's who wanted to sign with us I had to cancel the one section I had scheduled and hope he would take out the loan so I could reschedule it. Instead of just doing so, he replied, "looks like you already took out a loan" didnt take it out and disappeared for 5 days until the offseason was over and we had 800K and no stadium upgrade....then he took out the loan when it was too late.

Bearphin - "Everything" is easy to do. tactics don't need changed much to begin with.


Exactly, you can make minor changes when your team is good and you will win most games if your team is 3 or more pts better. You have to screw up or be caught off guard to lose a game in which the matchup favors you by 3 or more, but that is a numbers based game for you. The only hard part is keeping your team organized and active. If you lose the active players your player builds fall behind and you dont have your equipment set right and then you lose games even if you have solid tactics.

They need to install some sort of momentum builder so that if a bad team gets ahead early due to the better team trying to play like D bags then they can swing momentum and pile it on the better team. Something like the new madden IQ where teams going for it on 4th and 12 from their own 20 yd line are penalized and as in reality have a very small chance of making it combined with a devastating swing in momentum because of the retard play calling.

Yea I have lost much interest in this game as some of you have seen I sold the Krakens to my DC. There just isnt much to do you; better team you win; weaker team you lose. All you have to do is worry about people bitching and people leaving which isnt really "fun."

Oh well.

That sucks, but at least you aren't disbanding or anything. You have a very strong team assembled, which is not an easy task. For what it is worth, Pigeons have the strongest roster I have seen on here and we beat them. I don't think its just about "stronger team" beating "weaker team".

I agree with both of you. There is not enough 'to do' but that amount increases each season.

I would still say that the best built teams will win ONLY if everyone is using a similar level of AI and tactics. A great built team, with a vanilla playbook\no AI will get beat by a 'smarter' team. There are only so many offensive plays and some can be completely shutdown if you get the right personnel in the right playcall\formation.

But I guess this is as it should be, since it is a 'player driven' game.

It would be an interesting experiment to take a 10yd Fight\Krackens\Pidgeons type team and put them up against a 'lesser' team, maybe a second year cap 21 team, and have the superior team run no AI at all, just basic tactics and let the lesser team run their full AI packages.

I would bet the lesser team wins.

At least so far as an owner, I would say the owner's primary responsibility is to assemble well built players - since as you say, the rest is secondary.

No, it's defiantly not. The Bearphins almost beat one of the top ranked teams in A6 last week. we had he game won going into the 4th but due to a mistake by me in the AI, we lost by 9. If I hadn't made that mistake we would have beaten a team way out in front of us.

I agree to an extent but a capped 21 league team wouldn't beat us. I scrimmed one last year when they ran full AI's and I did not. I mean maybe they would beat you guys, but not me

I am looking to show how AI doesn't decide games that much unless you try to screw it up or are an idiot. There is NO reason to make this more time consuming or over analyze things the way this games SIM works. You can kid yourself and think you need to watch all kinds of games and tailor your AI but we don't have the control we need to warrant that. Gameplanning is hardly a factor. The better builds or favorable build matchups win most the time, the only factor just like in real life that does is turnovers and those are random.

I once thought gameplanning would make a difference when the advanced AI was out but it has failed to do that.

last year the Fight didn't use the defense AI and made it to the conference final. Kings (another team I GM for) won the league without using the defense AI. this year both are and I don't see much of a difference between using it and not using it.

in an evenly matched game tactics will matter (not as much as turnovers usually thoguh lol). until they can make the conferences have all equally built teams though. the better built longer term teams will be successfull by default.

Well, I think something is wrong with it because so far the Bearphins have sucked this year. Better competition or not, we have sucked. Especially our run defense...

At this point in the game I don't trust anything to work like we might assume it should or does. There is to much guesswork involved regarding EVERYTHING. It just isn't worth the time to try and make sense of it. Been there done that, saw no difference either way.
