As a football strategist, I would agree with you.

As a WR owner, I'd say "F@ck that, tell your HB's to load up on their pass blocking and blitz pick ups so there is more time to throw to the WRs who are capable of producing explosive speed, expect some major yards.

^ LOL! You never do hear of folks asking HB's to increase their blocking...but everyone talks about it being important for WR's. Hmmm...you may be onto something. After all, one HB increasing blocking will help the QB, TE and WR's. So 5-8 players on the team! Blocking for WR's only help the HB, so that's maybe two players on a team. Clearly a blocking HB is bigger benefit to the team.

Exactly! I totally agree, I tried to mention pass protection before.

Well, if a power back had 90 str, 40 speed and 40 agi, and a healthy pool of power SAs I'd tell him to raise blocking a little too.

Okay, I'll start the rumor, you guys spread it to the rest of the forums and the team owners/GMs:

90% of drops are caused by the QB being hurried due to poor HB pass protection. If HBs raise their blocking to the 1st softcap there won't be anymore drops.

Seriously, we have tried everything else to reduce drops on our end and it hasn't worked, time to pass the buck.

I won't raise blocking any sooner than I will raise tackling...which I wonder how much I should have to prevent embarrassing plays like this from happening again:

hrm, that just doesn't sound like Bort. We need to work on that.

Lol! Unlucky, good pursuit though.

A while ago I saw one of flames WRs on play like that where he was like 20 yards behind the CB who made the INT and still made a TD saving tackle, which kinda went against the whole acceleration thing. I'm gonna try to find it...

I just went through a ridiculous amount of games to find this!:

What season was that play from? Before or after the agility aiding acceleration change?

After the agility aiding acceleration change. It's from season 4 game 12.

how does that play go against the agility change? it took him like 15 yards to hit top speed.

lol he intercepted it off of your bobble, then broke your tackle, then when u finally catch up to him down in your redzone, he breaks your tackle AGAIN!! for the second time and gets his own TD. i wish that happened in real life, thats the funniest play ive ever seen here.

Neither did the CB. The WR had 90+ speed then, how quickly do you want him to reach top speed. Anyway, everyone said with low agility you won't reach your top speed.

Looked like it took 7 yards to get up to top speed, once he hit the 12 yard line from the 5 I didn't notice any increase in speed and it looked constant. If you can reach top speed in 7 yards as a WR, you'll do OK.

Yeah, it is funny in retrospect, but if you take into account that we were about to go up 7 on that play and wound up going down 7, it wasn't so funny when we lost by 7. Losing the ball and 2 missed tackles destroyed my confidence for the rest of the game, dropped everything after that-though it could be the CBs out leveled me considerably.

no one ever ever said that. at least no one who knew what the fuck they were talking about, obviously. Acceleration has 0 to do with what top speed you can reach, and only has to do with how long it takes you to get there. Youre talking agility as a top speed limiter, which no one who had access to any sort of replay (see above) would claim. agility isnt like a governor on your engine, its more like the valves.
